Hi
My name is Camelia. I am 31 and of Maori descent.
I was born in Tokoroa which is in the central area of the North Island of New Zealand. I have lived in various places throughout New Zealand and found, there's no place like home. I met my husband in Tokoroa and we settled here with our three daughters as well as our Great Dane dog, Duke.
I have one younger brother, no others and no sisters. My father came from a family of 18 children and he was the eldest. My mothers family consists of 9. I guess when they got to us, they figured less was better.
My paramount interest is being a good mother, being someone my children can rely on and talk to. If you can teach your children to talk to you from the time they are very young, it is a natural act which will bring them to you when they are older and facing some of lifes difficulties.
My second paramount interest is helping my husband run our Company, Sandbrook Software & PC Services Ltd, of which I am the Manager. We sell computers; software; components; peripherals and consumables. Over the three months we have been registered and operating, I have found it a learning experience where the technical aspects are concerned but its all part and parcel of being able to provide an excellent service so I battle on. My prime responsibilities include maintaining contacts; sales, customer relations and the necessary bookwork.
I am currently doing a correspondence course with Stotts Correspondence College of Lower Hutt (in the southern region of the North Island). It is for a Diploma in Business Management and contains 7 electives with one compulsory of Accounting. I find, and have found, this course to be a great asset in running our Company as it contains the directives I need to accomplish successful financial management in all the areas I have used to help set the Company up.
If this means anything to anyone, I am Kinestetic. As a result, I enjoy a very hands-on approach to everthing I do. I once attended Waikato Polytechnic and from the experience determined that the class environment was not for me. One of the classes I had was Accounting. When I left, I still did not understand Accounting and I hated it. Now that I am doing Accounting by correspondence I understand it just fine because its right there in front of me and if I don't understand a segment, I simply review the chapter. Works for me. One other thing that I find invaluable with correspondence is that you find the time to do it when it suits you. Going to class in a pre-scheduled timetable is fine but what about those days when your not in the mood to learn or your not feeling 100% or something is getting you down?
Sad :-( I don't have that problem :-)
The enjoyment factor. I love being a mother and I love having a wonderful husband. I love being inside a warm house when its' freezing outside and I love having a back yard to romp in with my family, in the summer. I love cooking and I love my husbands cooking Mm Mmm.
The not-so enjoyment factor. I don't enjoy it when my children best me in Karate free-sparring (though I can appreciate the learning factor that comes with that). I don't mind peeling potatoes but I'd rather not. I can't stand brussell sprouts but I'll eat them if I am a guest for dinner.
The dis-like factor. I dislike many things but paramount is balloons that are too close to me (call me crazy), rudeness and arrogance (not so unusual)
Overall perception of Life in general. Life is like a box of chocolates.... Just kidding. In general, I find it is a mixture of good and bad. Depending on how you perceive the good and deal with the bad, this is the essence of life.
