Mom's favorite song "I just called to say 'I love you'."
Written on the day my Mother died. I was phoned and told she was going to die any minute and I lived 250 miles away.

Verna Alexander in British Columbia put mom on the prayer line. Charles Alexander Prayed that her heart be burst open and release all the anger and resentment and open to receive the love of Christ and be received into the bosom of Jesus. Lord help me not to squander the precious inheritance you gave me today....the gift of peace that my Mother is with you. Help us to remember all the good things about my mother.
Thank you God for allowing us to have one last time with Mom ..We took Elijah down to meet his great-grandmother and put a prayer in her hand.
They called us to go down to Windsor because she had fallen into a coma on Saturday and they did not expect here to live that night...Sheri and I loaded everything in the car and headed down to Windsor...got there about 11 pm and she looked comatose and unresponsive.... Sheri put Eli up to give Gramma a kiss and as a 5 month old would he slapped her face...I felt guilty and told Sheri we would have to leave.... The next morning we came in and put Eli up to Gramma and held his hands to give her a kiss and she opened her eyes and said "Good Morning Chickadee" to Eli...We wanted to take a picture of this miraculous recovery and she said only if she could hold him... So she did and we got a picture...Elijah (jumped on her bed as a 5 month old would) and she loved it...She sang jingle bells jingle bells as Elijah jumped. We wanted to take a picture and she said "only if she could hold him” She held him and we took the picture...we remembered the things she did
Like...When Sheri was a little girl and she had been good, Gramma used to say she could have a magic chocolate. She scratched the wallpaper and pretends to give Sheri a chocolate that came out of the wallpaper.
We remembered her wonderful deep dish apple pies...Her lemon pies to die for. They were so good, and how Jimmy cried when she left Nova Scotia because he thought he would never have a lemon pie again.
Jim remembers her trick on April fools day when she baked a lemon pie for him but under the meringue was only Kleenex.
We remembered how she used to walk down hill to the hand pump and fill the bucket with water then trudge all the way back up the hill to water the vegetables...she did that over and over and over until all the garden was saturated. She had a marvellous green thumb...I know why she loved manure...she made me go to the Bengal Lancers in Halifax and with my shovel ...fill bags and bags of horse manure....but the roses where beautiful.
She could also imitate just about any bird songs and she fed all the animals around for miles.
Michelle just called from Nova Scotia and she wants to go out to Peggy’s Cove with me when we go with the ashes ...if Gordy has the ashes sent here.
Good Bye Mom. Hello Daddy. Take care of them Jesus...
