William Easton Shofner

    This is William's Discharge paper.  I know that you probably can't read it so I have transcribed it below.

To all whom it may Concern,

    Know ye, That William E. Shofner, Private of Captain W. F. Twymans Company (E.) Thirteenth Regiment of Kentucky Infantry VOLUNTEERS who was enrolled on the Thirtyieth day of September one thousand eight hundred and Sixty one to serve Three years or during the war is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States the Twelfth day of January, 1865 at Louisville Kentucky by reason of Expiration of term of Service.  (The next line is unreadable)

    Said William E. Shofner was born in Taylor County in the State of Kentucky is Eighteen years of age, Five feet Six inches high, Dark complexion, Dark eyes, Dark hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer.

   Given at Louisville, Ky. this Twefth day of January 1865
