Welcome to the OFFICE. The reason I call it the OFFICE because this is where I work. I got my start in Law Enforcement at the age of eighteen as a Military Police officer in the United States Army at Ft Carson, Colorado in the 4th MP Company.
From there I spent six years as an Officer at the Harrisonburg Police Dept., Harrisonburg, Va. I am currently with the Altoona Police Dept., Altoona, Pa. where I've been since 1986. I've worked in Patrol and Narcotics/Vice. So, take a look around
and I hope you enjoy it here. Please don't forget the other sections of Rick's Cyber Spot.
The Thin Blue Line
The Thin Blue Line is a symbol of our country's first line of defense, the American Police Officer, against crime and civil unrest. Please Keep Us In Your Prayers!

Matthew 5:9; Blessed are the peacekeepers, for they will be called sons of God
Thanks to the media, the world hears when one or a few of us mess up. I'm not here to pass judgement on them or to defend them, but I assure you for every one you hear about in a bad light, there are tens of thousands of Police Officers performing there sworn duties, helping others, saving lives and other things you never hear about and often times times don't stop to consider.
We make decisions, which we must live with, in split seconds which others debate for weeks, months and years. Our job is not easy and we seek no rewards for it.
We would, and many have, give our lives for you/strangers and expect nothing in return. So maybe sometime you could say a prayer for us and greet us with a smile or give us a sincere hello in passing.

Prayer for Police Officers
O, Almighty God, whose great power and eternal
wisdom embrace the universe, watch over all
police and law enforcement officers. Protect
them from harm in the performanceof their
duty to stop crime, robberies, riots and .
We pray, help them keep our streets and home safe
day and night. We commend them to Your loving
care, because their duty is dangerous.
Grant them your unending strength and courage in
their daily assignments.
Unite them safely with their families
after duty ends.
Amen
I AM THE OFFICER
I have been where you fear to be
I have seen things what you fear to see
I have done what you fear to do
All these things I have done for you.
I am the person you lean upon
The one you cast your scrorn upon
The one you bring your troubles to
All these people I've been for you.
The one you ask to stand apart
The one you feel should have no heart
The one you call the officer in blue
But I'm just a person, just like you.
And through the years I've come to see
That I am not always what you ask of me
So take this badge, take this gun
Will you take it? ... Will anyone?
And when you watch a person die
And hear a battered baby cry
Then do you think that you can be
All these things you ask of me?

Through many dangers, toils and snares;
I have already come.
'Twas Grace that brought me safe thus far;
And Grace will lead me home
