Tempting
This page is to deal with something we all deal with many, many
times each and every day.
That being Temptation. Temptation in and of itself is not
sin, but rather, sin can result from what we do when confronted with temptation.
Our Heavenly Father, God in Heaven desires that NONE should perish
but that ALL should have eternal life. He then provides the means
in which we may attain this Free Gift of Eternal Life called Salvation.
The price of Salvation has already been paid on a wooden cross at Calvary
by His son, Jesus Christ. There aren't many "Free Gifts" left in
the world today but this is the greatest free gift you'll have have offered
beacuse it lasts for Eternity. The decision is yours but the decision
is
forever.
Before I proceed I wish to WARN you that further down this page
is a graphic picture which may offend some and there will be one more WARNING
before you get there.
Rat Race
In today's "Rat Race" one may tell themselves that they are just
too busy to spend time with God or spend time to find God. No you're
not. Can you imagine how busy God must be at any single moment in
any given day, YET, He always has time for each of us. Personally
I cannot imagine how busy He must be. He is all seeing, all knowing
and never sleeps. Yet He is sure to watch over us as we do.
Are we really too busy to decide whether we will be eternally in
heaven or eternally in hell?
Combat
When temptation is upon us how do we fight it? The Bible
has several references regarding temptation and one of the leading ways
to combat temptation is to flee from it. Not too macho for a cop
to be suggesting you flee is it?
The sooner you can get away from the temptation the better.
Then busy yourself. When we find ourselves preoccupied or dwelling
upon the temptation this is yet another big warning sign that we are headed
for trouble.
Another means of combating temptation is to rebuke it with scripture.
This is clearly demonstrated when Jesus was tempted by satan for forty
days. We become more aquainted with scripture only by reading it.
The more we read our Bible, the more aquainted and familiar we become.
Know Your Foe
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'm going to attempt
to use graphics and text to illustrate a couple of points.
Sin is always about us. Many times we call them cute little
90's things that may or may not be "politically correct". But let's
face it, a sin is a sin. That's worth repeating; A Sin Is A Sin.
At the risk of beating it into the ground, one more time
A SIN IS A SIN!
This severed head is to demonstrate the Eternal seperation from
God we will have in the end if our names are not found in His Book of Life.
Eternal Seperation! That is probably the biggest part of hell that
bothers me. Every now and then one hears of an Atheist that hits
a low point and cries out to God. I hate to think of the time when
some will never ever have the opportunity or choice to cry out to God because
He never knew them. Oh how sad.
If it scares you please heed this scariness as a warning and accept
Christ in Your Life Today, Now.
Lust
Remember Elvira? She is a fictional character proclaimed
as "The Mistress of The Dark", played by Cassandra Peterson. I use
her to illustrate Lust of a Sexual Nature. And ladies this applies
to you as well as the fellas.
Sexual Lust is probably the biggest temptation in the Nation as
well as the World today. It is everywhere and probably the biggest
means of advertising on the market although we may refer to it as Sex Appeal
or some other cute little name.
Sexual Lust/Immorality destroys people, families and civilizations.
Pornography is one form or another surrounds us and is huge right here
on the internet. It is certainly NOT a victimless crime. That
is yet another sweet little way society tries to gain it's acceptance.
This is one you need to Flee from just as fast as you possibly can.
Along these lines is Homosexuality. We now call this an alternative
lifestyle and other acceptable little terms but it is Sin. Remember
Sin is a Sin. If I take a bottle of poison and put a Kool Aid label
on it does it cahnge the fact that it poison? No, as a matter of
fact it is now more deadly because it deceives one into thinking it is
something else. That's what the world does now a days. It changes
the names of things which are sin so it appears acceptable. Can this
be overcome? Yes! Can Immorality/Sexual Lusts/Homosexuality
be forgiven? Yes! But we need to realize what it is and address
it as such.
Convenience

All life is a Gift of God. It is not a choice for us.
This is not a convenience. This is sad and sickening. Some
say that life is really not life at this point, but what is it we are terminating
then? When a pregnant woman goes to the hospital for a check up the
doctor checks for the baby's heartbeat. This thing we call abortion
terminates the heartbeat, thus terminates life. Remember let's call
things what they are, not some acceptable little name. Abortion is
the killing of innocent life. Life is a gift of God.
Some time ago a girl in New Jersey went to her prom. She
was secretly pregnant. You know, bearing life. She went into
the restroom, gave birth and disposed of it in a waste can. She went
back to dancing then collapsed. She was subsequently chraged with
murder and rightfully so. Had she conveniently had an abortion it
would then have been acceptable.
Our world of convenience has conveniently opened the door to temptation
which has spread like wild fire many times over.
Can abortion be overcome? Yes! Can it be forgiven?
Yes! Let us now realize and call it what it is though.
Alpha and Omega
We now end where we began, with Jesus Christ. This world
began with Jesus Christ and it shall end with Jesus Christ. Where
will you be when that day comes? If you were to die tonight do you
know where you will spend eternity?
Please won't you come to know Him now?
Above I attempted to not even scratch the surface of how temptation
can snowball and get out of control in the blink of an eye. There
are many ways in which it can and many ways in which it does. Please
realize when temptation is upon you and end it immediately. Flee
from it.
