Out and About In

CURRITUCK COUNTY

The Currituck Sound Ferry
The ferry runs from the Currituck Mainland to Knotts Island on a regular schedule year-round. The trip takes about 40 minutes and is especially lovely on a warm summer evening. We don't use the ferry often, but we do try to take it once or twice a year to get to our favorite restaurant, Captain George's, in Pungo, Virginia.

On the Ferry's Landing
Even the landing has rules!

Poyner Park
This lovely site is on Poyner's Road in northern Currituck County, on Tulls Creek. It's a favorite spot for the locals to fish. A park with a boat ramp and picnic shelter are available for public use. During high tides, the full moon and/or nor'easters and hurricanes, the creek frequently overflows its banks and makes driving down this twisting road somewhat of a nightmare.

Afternoon Sun on Tulls Creek
The warmth of a beautiful spring or fall day, a crystal clear sky, and silence await the contemplative soul. This is a great place just to sit and meditate, or just look at nature.

Your Guess is as Good As Mine ...
Did somebody miss the curve?

OR

Are we giving directions to the fish?
