Celtic / Scottish Festivals
Only three years ago I began to attend Scottish festivals and I started simply because I wanted to represent the Clan Leslie Society at one. Clan Campbell was already well represented. I could have chosen Clan Bell, but at that time I was researching the Leslies exclusively and my paternal grandmother was a very important role model for me (her maiden name was Leslie).
And so began the Grand Adventure and one I don't know if I'll ever get my fill of. There is something so mystical about the sound of the Highland bagpipes and the swish of the kilt as the men stroll by. To me it is breathtaking to see all the varied tartan flags waving in the breeze. I just can't get enough.
Here in New Jersey, USA, we don't have grand scale games like many of the other states but that doesn't mean we don't feel the way our brothers and sisters do in other parts of the US. I attend three games regularly and usually host tents for the Clan Leslie Society at two of them. Take the links to the left to see photos and learn of my experiences.
