"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man." Saint Francis of Assisi

BooBoo and Riley's Kitty Welfare Page!

Did you know that most expurrts say that if we do not take care of the environment, we are doomed! Doomed seems like such a harsh word doesn't it? But if we destroy our home (which is what the earth is) what will happen to us or future generations?

A famous quote by a Native American Indian says that when all the amimal on the earth are gone, mankind will die of loneliness. It has also been shown that children who hurt animal at a young age are very likely to grow up and abuse their spouses or babies.

What can you do?

Young or old kitties can:

  • Visit the links we have purrovided.
  • Help at a shelter if you don't have the money to donate.
  • Donate money or supplies if you don't have the time.
  • Sign a petition if you don't have the time or money. Your signature may mean the difference between life and death, right or wrong, justice or injustice for all living creatures. Your name can become a powerful means of helping.

    Please won't you help?

    Purrs,
    Smokey (aka Booboo) and Riley

Wear a purrple ribbon to show your support for our fellow creatures on this planet. When people ask you what the ribbon is for tell them. I have had some interesting conversation with people because of this ribbon, some people still think its okay to wear an animals "fur" or as I tell them "skin".

Support your local animal shelters by donating time, money or supplies like pet food, litter boxes etc. Give to animal welfare groups that you've check into. Some according to the book "Animal Kind" written by Cleveland Amory are backed by hunting groups. If you can get a copy of the book at the local library please read it. It was written in the seventies, but unfortunately not much has improve for our animal friends.

In Canada there is the St. Francis Animal Rescue Mission aka ANIMAL RESCUE MISSIONS OF CANADA. I have adopted a kitty, who will live there forever because they DO NOT KILL any creatures in their Mission. I sent ten dollars a month for Susie's upkeep and they send me a picture and a letter telling me about her and her story. They need help, they have many furbabies that are adopted out to good homes, but some are not adoptable and they care for them for the remainer of their natural lives, and this cost money. Here is the address if any Canadian kitties wish to help:

    Animal Rescue Missions (ARM)
    773 Warden Avenue
    Scarborough, Ontario
    Canada M1L 4C2

Also in Canada is the INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR ANIMAL WELFARE. This organization helps all animal who "share" our planet. They are at 400-410 re Bank Street, Ottawa, Ontario K2P 1Y8. Please help our animal friends in any way you can, small ways, like feeding the birds, helping at a shelter, sending money to organizations, any help will be greatly appreciated by our friends and co-inhabiters of our planet.
