All About Our Siberian Huskys

First of all I would like to share with you the story of how we got started with Siberian Huskys. It all started in February of 1992. That is when I saw a Siberian Husky for the very first time. I was in a pet shop with a friend. A man was trying to find a home for his six year old Siberian that he could no longer keep. I thought she was the most beautiful dog I had ever seen, but I already had other dogs. As my friend and I continued to walk through the store to find the items we went in for we kept looking back at the dog. My friend and I eventually went over to talk to the man about his dog and she decided to take her home. I was amazed at how good the dog was. She just got in my car and sat down in the back seat. She was so cute and smart too. As we began the drive home my friend was concerned that her husband might not be happy with her bringing a dog home. She wanted to return her to the man in the store. The whole time I was sitting there, watching this dog, thinking that she was the neatest dog I had ever seen. So I thought, "Well I guess one more dog can't hurt" so I took her home. I fell in love with the dog. The next day I had to go to work. When I got home she was gone. She had climbed on top of a dog house and jumped over the fence. Before I even knew she was missing, someone had found her and returned her to the man in the store because she still had her tags on her showing him as the owner. He gave her away to someone else the very same day. Needless to say, I was heartbroken. All I could think about was that dog. That is when I decided I would get a puppy, my very first Siberian Husky. I searched every place I could think of looking for a puppy that looked like the dog I had been given. Finally, after searching all over five counties and about three weeks later I found her. A six week old, black and white, blue eyed Siberian Husky. I was one happy camper!!! We named her Crystal after the dog that I had been given. Crystal had more energy than any puppy I had ever had. It was almost like having a two year old in the house. But she soon captured everyone's heart. We took her to puppy classes where her training began. The class lasted for several weeks. Soon she graduated from puppy kindergarten. *SMILE* Siberian Huskys are almost like eating potato chips. You can't have just one. When she grew up we decided to breed her. She had ten puppies her first time. We ended up keeping three of them. I could not decide which one I wanted to keep. They were all so cute. That is how we came to have Brandy, Misty and Amber. They are all so different. They each have their own personality and, of course, Crystal is the alpha dog. Nikki was our next addition to our growing family. She is Misty's daughter. A while later a breeder near us had a litter of puppies which included whites. We decided to purchase a pure white Siberian Husky female, Her name is Stormy. When Stormy had her first litter we kept a silver male, the one and only Dozer. Next came Snowflake a pure white from Misty. One big happy family!

Updates as of March, 2006 it has been a long time since I first started this website and a lot has happened. My dogs have brought me much joy with this joy has come some very sad times we have lost Amber Brandy and Crystal. Amber was stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction she crossed over to Rainbow Bridge in Aug of 1998. Brandy became ill from complications with diabetes and we had to let her go to Rainbow Bridge in April of 2005. Crystal I never knew she was sick she never let me know anything was wrong.....on Oct 2, 2005 my sweet girl Crystal was very ill, I rushed her to the Vet (she was like my child) when I looked into her eyes I knew this was the day.....the one I have always dreaded. She was almost 14 years old. The Vet told us that she had a huge mass in her stomach that had attached to her organs. we had to let her go to Rainbow Bridge. Crystal was our first Siberian the one who started everything. I am so thankful for all the memories. Sometimes it's hard to remember that we can't keep them forever.

Dozer and Nikki have now also crossed over to Rainbow Bridge as of June 2006 .
