Images of an enchanted rocky isle

For most residents and visitors to Newfoundland it does have a certain charm, allure and fascination that makes it truly "enchanted". My love of "The Rock" started during a 17-day stay in early summer of 1996 and persists now, even after 4 visits within 3 years.

What accounts for this lure of Newfoundland? Mostly it's the people who are unlike any others I've met in my travels. But it's also the environment, the culture, the pace of living and the unmatched rugged scenery of Canada's newest province.

This gallery of personal photos reflects my visits to almost every corner of Newfoundland and, I hope, reveals the natural beauty that draws me there again and again.
