West Road Chess Club
The Chess Club, run by Mr. David Whalen, a 4th grade teacher, is currently into its Winter Session. The chess club provides 3-5 grade students an opportunity to learn, love and enjoy this wonderful game. Below is the schedule for 2000 winter season. All meetings are held on Tuesday mornings, from 7:40 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. in the West Road School cafeteria. January 11 January 18 January 25 February 1 February 8 February 15 No meeting on February 22 February 29 March 7 March 14	Tournaments: Monday, January 17th, St. Joseph's in Kingston Saturday, February 12th, Northeastern Scholastic Chess Championship in Albany. Both rated and non-rated individuals can compete for a small fee. For further information, check here. You can also read listings regarding other tournaments around the country there as well. Many in the NYC area. Saturday, March 18th, West Road School Chess Tournament. Don't miss this one, it's tons of fun! More information on this as it gets closer.
