Frances Sage Edwards Hale, 1823-1892,
daughter of John Edwards. She married Atwater
Hale in 1842. The following is taken from a letter from Nancy Underwood:
"The only reason I know when Frances Edwards was born is because she is
listed in the genealogy of the Hale family due to her marriage to Atwater Hale.
This gives her birth and death dates. Her Will is given also. Among her bequests she left $500.00 to
the church and ..'numerous regrets to relatives.' Isn't that a hoot? She must have been a real character.
Her Will also names her sisters Charlotte, Hannah and Caroline, brothers Joseph Alfred and John P.
The Will was dated March 1892 and so we do know from that that these five were still alive at that time.
She died in July of the same year. The other three siblings may have already died or she just didn't leave
them anything."
