Black Evening and Black Drag'enKnight
Drag'enKnight paced the room for the hundredth. He felt as if he'd go crazy if he didn't see Evening soon. He looked over to Black Nightsong and Purple Butterfly who were chattering about something. He wondered if they'd notice if he left...
*Drag, please stop shouting out all your thoughts!* Butterfly complained. *Just go and see her! Nightsong and I will pretend we didn't see you leave.* She grinned at him and winked.
*Yes, go see Evening!* Nightsong chimed in. *You've been sending out the most annoying emotions the past week! Butterfly and I understand what you're going through. Even though we've had mates for a long time we still know how it feels!* She pointed toward the open window. *Now go to Evening. I bet she'll be happy to see you.*
Drag'en glared at the two dragons with pride glowing in his eyes. *I have not been that obvious!* Butterfly giggled as Nightsong snorted. Drag'en's eyes narrowed to slits. *Fine, I'm going.* Drag'en leapt into the air and flew out of the window.
Butteryfly and Nightsong grinned at eachother. *Finally!* They said together and then started giggling like hatchlings.

The door-chime rang. Evening, claws still soapy from her dishwashing, ran to open the door, knowing who awaited her outside. ~Drag'en! There you are! What are you doing here? Will you excuse me, I need to wash my claws off!~ Evening greeted him. Her mate chuckled *Came to visit you, and go ahead, wash those elegant claws of yours before they start to sting!* Evening pecked him on the cheek and dashed off, returning a few seconds later.
~So,~ she said, ~What do you want to do?~
Drag'enKnight looked out into the clear, sunny sky. *Um, how about we go outside and enjoy the sunshine?* he suggested. ~Good idea,~ Evening nodded. ~I'm starting to go crazy in here!~ Evening took her mate's claw and they walked outside just when it started to rain.
~How did that happen?~ Evening asked. ~It was perfect weather just two seconds ago!~
*Probably a weather mini around here who really likes rain did it,* Drag'en reasoned.
~Yes, well, okay, maybe, probably,~ Evening said, accepting the explanation. ~Well then- there isn't much to do, since IvoryHope, Peran, and Alto are spending the night at their mate's places' any suggestions?~ Evening asked. ~My inspiration has completely flown out the window and has been destroyed by thunder!~ Drag'en shook his head. *Why don't we just sit here, by the fireplace. Maybe an idea will come.* he said.
~Okay,~ Evening said, shrugging and joining Drag'en on the loveseat next to the hearth.
Evening rested her head on Drag'enKnight's shoulder as they listened to the rain patter on the roof. Drag'en wrapped his arm around her and sighed sending her his feelings. Most were of love for her but deep down she felt a fear that made her automatically wince. Then all the sudden the flow of emotions stopped. *Sorry,* Drag'en muttered.
Drag'en felt like a silly hatchling, letting his emotions slip like they had. He seemed to lose his control whenever he thought of Evening. He stared out into space hoping Evening wouldn't comment on his careless behavior. ~Why do you hold your emotions away from me?~ Evening asked as she let her own emotions circle around them. Drag'en basked in the love that Evening sent him. *I don't want you to worry about me.*
Evening shook her head. ~I want to worry about you,~ she said and kissed his cheek. ~What are you so afraid of?~
*Losing you!* Drag'en choked out before he could help himself. Evening stared at him in bewilderment. Then he let go of his emotions completely. Evening shuddered feeling his fear of losing her. She felt a tear roll down her cheek from the feeling.
Drag'en saw the tear but still felt her love flowing around them. He held her tightly. *Please don't cry! Please I'll stop, I'll stop!* He tried to contain his emotions but with Evening clining to him he couldn't manage to think of anything but her.
~Oh Drag'en! I'd never leave you! I love you!~ Evening felt the fear subside and love take it's place as she said this. ~I love you and only you!~ She said it again and kissed him. The fear was gone, washed away by an emotional waterfall of love. Evening felt as if she'd burst with love as Drag'en gave her all his feelings and all of his heart.
