This is a sample of checking Antialias. |
To show you a better example of using antialias; I magnified my text about seven times and then hit the Print Scrn button to make a copy of it. For text on web pages you will want to place a check mark in the box next to antialias.
You can see that the pixels are very defined when you don't check antialias. This is used mainly for printing. When designing graphics with text for your web page you will use antialias.
Bezier Line
I had never used this tool before and really enjoyed playing with it. I did not check antialias for this graphic; if I had the lines would have been smoother. |

- I made the stem and leaves once
- Then I copied and pasted three in a row.
- Each flower head was done individually.
- The flower head in the second graphic was a font.
- Font name - Chancery Ornaments small letter "a".
- Gif file was 28K.
- I reduced the colors to 16 to reduce file size to 13K.
- Smaller size but less colors.
- See the JPG file below which used 24285 colors was 15K when compressed 50%.

Straight Lines
 |
I really enjoy working with the grids in PSP5! This makes it a lot easier for me to draw as I am used to using grids to make quilting designs. The grid size is set in File- Preferences - General Program Preferences. I choose a grid of 25 vertical and 25 horizontal for this (You can choose whatever you like.) Next go to View - Grid. The picture above was magnified and then I used Print Scrn to show you what the grid looks like. You watch the bottom left-hand corner of your screen
to align your lines. The border on this page was designed using stars made with the grid.
A few examples of stars made using the Filter Factory Marble Madness One filter in Gallery A.
- Use
to select the background.
- Then I went to Selections - Invert. You should have a wiggly line around the star.
- Then Image - Plugin Filters and I selected the filter I used
- Then I added a drop shadow of black; opacity 54; blur 8.9 Vertical and Horizontal at 5.
- I decreased colors to 256 for a gif file. I tried 16 colors but lost shading.
- I went to Colors - View transparency and set background to transparent although with a shadow it will only work on a white background.
Signatures are made using the butterfly tube included in PSP5.
