Becky West's Adoption Page

This page is under construction to build a new foundation for an adoptee by the name of Becky. She has found her birth family thanks to her adopted mother's courage to give her the legal papers showing her adoption court record (which was not censored) revealing her birth parents' names and more. This page is dedicated to adoptees who are forced by law to live a life without the right to know of their birth! If your server will show it my background on this page is a brickwall, much like the one adoptees face everyday when they think or ask about their birth.

In Memory of My Adoptive Parents

This beautiful winged horse was created by Carol Ann Fox and used here with special permission! To me the horse symbolizes a certain boldness, freedom, and, yet, gentleness. It is magical, majestic and mystical. It also reflects the innocense of a child and the singlarity of the adopted child.

I was born on Nov. 17, 1949 in Evansville, IN. Sometime in 1950 (when I was about 6 months) my adoptive parents took custody of me from a foster home as the first step to adopt me as their own child. They adopted me in 1951 and gave me the name of Rebecca Louise McIntyre and that is when James Lois McIntyre became my father. My new mother was Ruth Alice Stinson. They are the only parents I have ever known. That makes them my "real" parents. They raised me, clothed me, fed me, educated me and loved me. They will always be "Mom & Dad". On Jan.1,1992, my adoptive mother gave me the adoption papers that listed my birth name and birth parents. At age 42, I finally know what my name was and who my birth parents were - I was always "Becky". I was born Rebecca Louise Meredith daughter of Robert H. Meredith and Lucinda Aurelia Peach. Thanks to my husband, John G. West, in three days I knew the names of all my brothers and sisters and knew where both of my birth parents were buried. I have met all my lost siblings and some aunts & uncles and some cousins. For the first time in my life, I know who I am.
