Another photo of David Walker Smith, Jr. has turned up, courtesy of Leon 'Son' Scott and Edith Bastin (Thanks!) This one, taken of 'DW' in 1865 just as The War ended, shows him as a young man of 22 years of age in his Union uniform, before he grew his beard.

As any genealogist knows, tracing a "Smith" ancestor is difficult at best. If anyone has any information on "DW's" ancestors, I would very much like to hear from you!
