Quebec's Background
Before I met my husband Rick, I adopted a
grey tiger-striped kitten. I found him at
the Michigan
Humane Society
when he was about 8 weeks old.
I wanted to give the kitten a name
from a place where I enjoyed visiting
as a single woman. I visited Quebec
City, Quebec in Canada for a weeklong
ski trip sponsored by American Youth
Hostel during a Christmas holiday in 1988.
That name fits well to his personality.
He sure loves to play with branches from trees,
plays with a pen that is mysteriously alive
under a pillow, getting Rick's attention by
patting him with his paw and likes to lay on
the floor with his belly being rubbed. He
also knows when I have a glass of milk and
he often sits on our dining room table
waiting for his glass of milk. Unfortunately,
he does get diarrhea sometimes.
His nicknames are: Dude, Becky, Creature and Quebecy.
Just like Imooch, he is also afraid of
children. Whenever our precious little
three year old niece comes over, he runs
for his life down to his basement up the
rafters (with assistanceof a ladder). I
pray that, one day, he will overcome his
fear of this human cousin of his! Just
imagine he is afraid of someone who is
younger than he is!(adopted June, 1989).
