1910-1997
Earlier this year, on June 25, 1997 the world lost one of its true heroes and pioneers. Very few people in the civilized world are unfamiliar with the name, Jacques Cousteau and of the joy he brought to so many through his lifetime of invention, exploration, and storytelling. While we mourn his death, it is far more appropriate that we celebrate his remarkable life and the gifts he gave to all of us. As a kid growing up far away from the ocean, his television series "The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau" peaked my interest in the sea and its many wonders and I'm sure played a part in my choosing the Navy and the submarine force as a career path to follow for 20 years. It is an interest that has never waned and will always continue for me. I will attempt through this series of web pages to give this man the honor he deserves by sharing with you some of the creatures of the underwater world that have brought me great joy and amazement throughout my lifetime.
This series will be under construction for some time, so be patient with me and keep checking back ...
