WELCOME TO JUDE'S WORLD...

The world views her as an ordinary woman, leading an ordinary life in an
all too ordinary city. She is devoted to her children, her husband, and to her
fervent belief in animal rights. Simple is she...lighthearted, dependable, caring,
intelligent, always predictable. Or...so it seems.

Few would ever think her capable of leading such a sordid, double life.
Perhaps if they would take notice of the mysterious ever-changing hue
of her crimson hair, or the oversized dark glasses she wears
rain or shine, or her unquenchable interest in crime files
at the local library, they might recognize something different...

Perhaps if they'd witnessed her fiery passion for scribbling down notes
on crumpled pieces of paper or in the margins of her checkbook,
or her unusual preoccupation of watching strangers--sometimes
following them down the aisles of the local supermarket--just to gain
insight and to memorize the way they moved, dressed, or spoke...then
surely they would have guessed...

Perhaps if they knew about her midnight escapes to the keyboard,
enduring long, secret hours, tapping in a fevered pitch, while her family
sleeps in oblivious peace...then it all might make sense to them.

But no. To the outside world she remains just an average woman,
leading an ordinary life. Simple and uneventful is her existence to them.
But that's exactly the way she prefers it.
Her privacy is something she embraces, the very tool which
allows her to move undetected within the area she craves the most,
the world of mystery, where she invisibly comes alive.
Where every action is premeditated. Where every breath
is woven into the tapestry of intrigue, suspicion, subtle clues,
deceit...maybe even murder.

Simple? Ordinary? Predictable? How very blind the world can be.
