Perfect

Would God tell us to be that which is impossible?

By: Rev Richard Puckett

I often hear preaching and testimony that says’s "I’m not perfect and no one else can be either." Maybe we need to look at that statement with the Bible in hand. First what do they mean by such a statement? If they mean that all of us make mistakes and have human or fleshly weakness they are right. We are in the flesh and war goes on between the flesh and Spirit. But as I have heard many say we all are sinners, then there may be a problem with what is being said. Sin is a willful transgression against God and sin is to do evil when you know it is wrong. I was a sinner and so were you for all are born in the flesh which is sin or enmity against God. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. As you can see by these words the flesh goes against God but we overcome the flesh by the Spirit of God. John 1 8-10 shows us that we were once sinners but then are cleansed by the blood of Christ so we were once sinners but not now. Let us look at the following scriptures, which are just a small part of all the word says on this subject. I encourage you to look at the word with an open mind and leading of the Spirit. Understand that a mistake in it self is not a sin, you say what, did you think about doing the thing, was it planned? Did you think while you were doing it I couldn’t do this? Mistake or things that happen even before the mind thinks about them they become sin when the Spirit reveals it to your mind and you refuse to repent. God expects us to live above sin, to overcome sin, to live righteous, holy, perfect in our love, a heart right with him.

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Would Jesus tell us to do something we can’t do? God gives us the power to overcome sin. He tells us to live with a heart that is right with him. Perfect means to have a heart right with God, to be whole, to be holy without sin. It is not a choice it was a command.

(Gen 6:9 KJV) These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Gen 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Noah was perfect or look at 7:1 righteous before God. To right before God is to be in the Spirit and with out sin. If you are a sinner you are not righteous. How can preachers preach to others to get something they don’t have or really believe in. If I am a sinner why am I telling you to repent. I know I have human errs, but as I come to face those errs I have to repent and make change. As I grow I learn. A child doesn’t know that touching hot-stove hurts until he is taught. As he grows he learns until he come in to maturity or reaches adult hood. This is what perfect or righteous represents in our lives. We should grow up, not always be children. Here this man and his family were spared because he overcame those around him and there evil ways, so can you.

(Gen 17:1 KJV) And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Here we see the direct command to Abram, be thou perfect. One could say it this way, Abram be holy, or Abram be an adult, Abram be righteous, and God is expecting the same from us. You can be sure that God is watching you. God’s expectation for us never changes, his plan has always been the same, a people that would serve him with body and soul out of love. If you love Jesus, he said you will keep my commandments. If you are keeping his word in your life then through love then you are spiritually righteous or perfect. What bothers me is when one say’s we are all sinners we belittle the work of Christ. For often the person saying this is not really a sinner at all but lives very holy lives and is only repeating what they have always heard preached. My God can do what he say’s, he made me a new creature. If God can’t make an immediate change in our hearts and our lives what difference is there between what I was before. When I met my wife and fell in love a change was made in my heart and it effected the way I did things. When I fell in love with God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost it made a difference in ever walk of my life. Now I serve him, now I worship him. The change to Abram was so great God gave him a new name. He say’s when we come to him he gives us a new name as well, because we are not the person of yesterday.

(Lev 22:21 KJV) And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.

The last part tells us what is acceptable to God, a heart that has no blemish therein.

Deu 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Or one could read it this way, you will keep your heart right with the Lord your God.

(2 Sam 22:33 KJV) God is my strength and power: And he maketh my way perfect.

You can keep a clean heart on your own, it takes the Spirit of God working in you. It is his strength and power that helps us to overcome sin. He makes the activities in my life holy because I love him. I wouldn’t cheat on my wife because I love her. I don’t want to do anything to hurt her. I have and when I did I had to ask forgiveness, but it wasn’t because I waned to. You see a perfect heart isn’t one that never fails but it is one that never wants to fail. And if a failure comes it is repaired. You wouldn’t think of paying $40,000.00 for a new car, has a flat, then throw the car away. No you fix the flat and then the car is perfect again.

(1 Ki 8:61 KJV) Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

(1 Ki 15:3 KJV) And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

Here we see that David’s heart had been perfect or in a right place with God but his son’s wasn’t. Don’t judge my wife, kids or friends by me, God doesn’t he judges you for who you are.

1 Ki 15:14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

I like this passage, it shows that a heart that is right with God may not line up with what everyone else thinks we should do. You can even have a heart that is right with God and miss some things he would rather have you do. Lets just say he really wants ladies to have dress’s to there toes and men to ware long sleeve’s. You may not fit that image but your heart is right with God because you have not been told by the Holy Spirit to dress that way and that is not how you understand the word. Now if the Spirit convicts or tells you to change then you best do it for then you would be disobedient and that is sin. But just because I think you should wear only blue dress doesn’t mean God says that. We argue most over head knowledge and not Spirit Knowledge.

2 Ki 20:3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

1 Chr 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

1 Chr 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

1 Chr 29:19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

2 Chr 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

The eyes of God are watching you his people and he is strong there is no reason to sin. If we do that which is displeasing to him he punishes us here, to try and teach us his way. When one of my children do something wrong, I try to reason with them, if that doesn’t work then the punishment gets harder. Like I told my oldest daughter one time when she was complaining I was just being to hard and old fashioned. You will never get in trouble for making a mistake when you did something wrong but it was the intent to do so, but when you know I don’t want you going someplace and you choose to go, or you use words that you know I don’t allow, or sneak around to do things that I have told you not to do you can be assured when found out you will be punished. Look at the word of God the same thing happens when we his people mess up. But don’t try to lie to him and say oh gee God I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to go to bars, I didn’t see any wrong in you those words everyone else does it. Get on with it he knows your heart, and he knows the real level of understanding of his word you have. You see I did not expect my baby daughter to act at the same level of maturity as the daughter 5 years older. But when she reaches that same age I expect like understanding. We are not all the same and we do not grow the same and we do not understand the same, and we are not of the same strength, God knows this and guides us as well as judges us by the person we are.

2 Chr 19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

2 Chr 25:1 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

2 Chr 25:2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

To have a heart that is right with God we must hate evil. We must fear the wrath of God that is not the same kind of fear that one would have with an intruder at the door. But it is rather a fear of child knowing their disobedience to parents. Jesus said he came not to destroy but to save. He said he didn’t come to condemn but to save, why then do we spend so much time tearing down and condemning those about us because they see things a little difference then we do? Do you know what God has told them in there life, how strong they are, how old they are in God? Those that looked on job with the natural eye could not see the Job that God saw. God saw in me something others could not and chose me to preach, not because of what you see or I see, but because of his power and might and the potential he sees. He sees potential in you will you let him make you someone of real value, will you let him perfect your heart and change your life?

Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Job 9:20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

Job 9:21 Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.

Job 9:22 This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

Psa 18:32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

God has to do the work and it is a continuing process. I can be right with God today but tomorrow he gives me new instructions, I see new revelations in his word, new truths to apply. It is like house keeping you dust and clean just a few hours later you find dust on the area you had cleaned. The world is the dust and it attracts to us, we have to continue cleaning so to keep right is to always keep working for God, to stay in pray, to keep ourselves under control. Not a task you can do with out the Holy Spirit. I don’t say look at me I am perfect or my heart is right with God for even as I say it new dust is settling in, so I work at keeping my heart right, If God comes now I know I can say I am right and ready to go. Pauls says he strives for or is always working to get there as so are we all. But he doesn’t say he isn’t ready now. The work won’t be done until he comes.

Psa 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Psa 101:6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Psa 101:7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

Psa 101:8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

Psa 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Psa 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psa 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psa 32:11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psa 64:10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Psa 69:27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.

Psa 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Psa 118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:

Psa 118:20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

Prov 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Prov 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Prov 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

Prov 13:5 A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

Prov 24:24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

Ezek 3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Ezek 3:21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ezek 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Ezek 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Ezek 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

Ezek 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

Ezek 18:27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

Ezek 18:28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Ezek 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Please note these verses, we must live a Godly life, God is always the same and he has always expected the same, a whole and right

Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Ezek 33:14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

Ezek 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Ezek 33:16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Mal 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Only the power of God can make the heart right, but how do we keep it that way. We work at it and we keep the mind of Christ as our mind. Let me say it this way learns to think as Jesus thinks. Let the Spirit of God lead you.

Isa 42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Isa 42:6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Ezek 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

The only way to do it, the only way to live a clean, holy life is by having the Spirit in you. If you are struggling and can’t seem to live the standard of the bible, it’s because you are trying to do it. Stop step back ask God to do it in you, let him take over, apply his word to your life and you will find it gets easier to live for Jesus everyday.

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

The call to repent goes out to us today just at to those of that day. Except we become sorry for our sins, and ask God to forgive us then not do them anymore we will die and go to Hell. When we do ask God to forgive us he converts us or changes us as seen in these verses.

Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Mat 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Luke 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

1 Cor 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Again the world can not make you clean, it cannot remove sin it only adds sin. Why do so many Christians start out serving the Lord then looking back at what they left. Soon they begin to compromise their lives and lose all that was gained. That $40,000.oo car is not taken care of will soon it will be junk. Any thing we have including our bodies takes work to keep it in condition.

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The preacher has a job to do, the teacher has a job to do and so do the lay members. The goal is in verse 12 for the prefecting of the saints. We must not forgive that God’s son is coming for a pure {perfect} bride.

Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

1 Pet 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

God will take care of his people but he against them that serve themselves.

1 Pet 3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

1 Pet 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1 Pet 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Phil 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Phil 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Phil 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Phil 3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Phil 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Phil 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Phil 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Phil 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Please take note here Paul is not saying he wasn’t living a perfect [heart right with God], he was not saying I am a sinner, read verse 15. He said I never get self-assured thinking I’m righteous so that I never slack in my walk with Christ. He knew that if he began to look at where he was instead of where he was going he would soon be in trouble. When I was a boy learning to walk the balance beam the instructor would say don’t look at your feet, look out a few feet in front then you won’t lose your balance. When learning to drive a car, the instructor taught look out in front of the car not just the edge of the hood. Paul knew this, you will lose your spiritual balance if you start looking at where you are. We have to keep always going forward, but we are not sinners, we had best be Saints.

Phil 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Phil 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

1 Th 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Tim 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

1 Pet 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

So my friend if you look at the word God commands us to be perfect, which is he commands us to clean, holy, blameless, with out fault, righteous, complete, mature, heart right with God. I don’t care what word you chose he will not accept sin nor sinners. Do not be led a stray by those who haven’t read the word or studied it deeply. God’s people are not sinners, if you are a sinner he loves you and wants to convert you. God’s folks do make mistakes they have normal human lives but they do not willfully do that, which would displease God. And if for some reason they do fall if they will repent and turn back to God he will forgive them. He will not accept continuing disobedience. Look at the lessons of the house of Israel. But his desire is to save you and keep you till his coming. You have to make some choices here as well, he doesn’t make you a robot he lets you make your choices. God does not tell us to something he has not made a way for us to do. He sent a Spirit straight from heaven to live in us to give us the power over the flesh. I guess I could go on and add more scripture, and look at the other augments closer, but my friend I feel that the word is true and easy to read and understand, God wants you and me to be like his son, who was without sin. He said to the workman caught in sin go and sin no more,

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

2 Cor 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

2 Cor 13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.

2 Cor 13:13 All the saints salute you.

2 Cor 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
