Give Thanks to the Lord

 
We have so many things to be
thankful for in our lives. 
We just finished celebrating 
a holiday for that very reason...
With the hustle and bustle of 
everyday life, of the upcoming events
of Christmas and all that is ahead,
I need to be reminded to slow down.
To be thankful for all that the Lord 
has provided, for all of the things
that I try not to take for granted...
but inadvertantly do.
 It is so easy to focus on what we "need
and dont have", what we want and can't have.
When all the time we take for granted all that 
we already DO have.
So, I did a word search on all of the 
scriptures that have the phrase
"give thanks" in them. And WOW!!! 

So, I challenge you along with myself,
to make note of the situations behind 
each of these scriptures, and search
within ourselves and see if there is any
reason why we should not be giving thanks
to our Creator for all that we have, all that
He has done for us, and most of all for Jesus
Christ, His son, whom He gave to us no holds
barred, because He loved us that much.

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks,
 unto thee do we give thanks: 
for that thy name is near
 thy wondrous works declare.


 Ps 92:1 ¶ <> 
It is a good thing 
to give thanks unto the LORD, 
and to sing praises unto thy name, 
O most High:


 Ps 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, 
ye righteous; and give thanks
 at the remembrance of his holiness.


 Ps 105:1 ¶ O give thanks unto the LORD;
 call upon his name: make known 
his deeds among the people.

 Ps 106:1 ¶ Praise ye the LORD. 
O give thanks unto the LORD;
 for he is good: for his mercy
 endureth for ever.


 Ps 106:47 Save us, O LORD our God, 
and gather us from among the heathen, 
to give thanks unto thy holy name,
 and to triumph in thy praise.

 Ps 107:1 ¶ O give thanks unto the LORD,
 for he is good: 
for his mercy endureth for ever.


 Ps 118:1 ¶ O give thanks unto the LORD;
 for he is good: 
because his mercy endureth for ever.


 Ps 118:29 O give thanks unto the LORD; 
for he is good:
 for his mercy endureth for ever.


 Ps 119:62 ¶ At midnight I will rise 
to give thanks unto thee 
because of thy righteous judgments.


 Ps 122:4 Whither the tribes go up,
 the tribes of the LORD, 
unto the testimony of Israel, 
to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

 Ps 136:1 ¶ O give thanks unto the LORD;
 for he is good:
 for his mercy endureth for ever.
 
Ps 136:2 O give thanks unto the God of gods:
 for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: 
for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 136:26 O give thanks
 unto the God of heaven:
 for his mercy endureth for ever.

 Ps 140:13 Surely the righteous
 shall give thanks unto thy name:
 the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

 Ro 16:4 Who have for my life 
laid down their own necks: 
unto whom not only I give thanks, 
but also all the churches 
of the Gentiles.

 1Co 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker,
 why am I evil spoken of 
for that for which I give thanks?

 Eph 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, 
making mention of you in my prayers;

 Col 1:3 ¶ We give thanks to God 
and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
