THE REGALAS OF BACOLOR
In the early sixties I began to meet the Regalas from Bacolor,
Pampanga.
They were mostly found in the barrios of Talba and Tinajeros. Both of
these
barrios are now non-existent due to the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo and
the
succeeding lahar flows that buried these barrios along with most of the
town of Bacolor. Residents of these barrios are now
resettled
in the Madapdap resettlement area in Mabalacat.
In November, 1996 I received an e-mail from Robert
James Regala Keeler (keeler@execpc.com) informing me that he is a
descendant of Mamerto Regala from Talba, Bacolor, Pampanga. He has now
provided me
a copy of a partial Family Tree for his great grandfather, Mamerto
Regala, father of Ambassador Roberto Regala. I have also heard
from his
cousin, Frederick "Richie"
Paulate Regala (rjl408@earthlink.net). A partial family tree of
their branch of the Regalas and this is now accessible.
I have also heard from Dean Ric Santi of De La Salle University who
told me that his wife, Marica, is a granddaughter of Mariano Regala who
is from Bacolor, Pampanga. My latest contact is with Jacqueline
Ester "Jer"
Regala, a cousin of Maricar Regala Santi, daughter of Arsenio Regala.
