The Descendants of Isham Blake, Jr
Isham Blake, Jr was born July 24, 1804 and died September 15, 1874 in Rockingham, NC.  He was buried in Robeson Co., NC.  In 1820 Isham became a member of the Front St. M.E. Church in Wilmington, NC.  He was married twice.  His first marriage was on October 20, 1824 in Cumberland Co., NC to Margaret A. Crosby.  They had five children.  Margaret died on January 24, 1836 at the age of 24.  On October 26, 1836 in Brunswick Co., NC, Isham married Mary Frances Hall, the daughter of William Hall and Lydia Daniel.  Her great-grandfather was Robert Daniel who was Proprietary Governor of NC in 1704-1705.  Mary Frances was born ca. 1805/11.  In 1850 and 1860, Isham and his family lived in Cumberland County.  In 1870, Isham and Mary Frances lived in Frenches Creek Twp., Bladen Co., NC.  Isham was a farmer and had personal property worth $500.  Isham could neither read nor write per the 1870 census.  In 1880, Mary Frances lived with Ann Mortimer Blake Croom and her husband, J.D. Croom in Quhele (Maxton), Robeson Co., NC.

Powers.  William graduated from the University of NC at Chapel Hill and was the first Superintendent of Public Instruction of Robeson Co.  William was buried in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.

B, 36th Regt., NC Troops and Co b, 13th Battalion, NC Light Artillery.   They lived in 71st Twp, Cumberland Co per the 1880 census.
