A Loving memorial to Shane...

Lessons You Taught Me

You were my first child, you changed my life completely,
You taught me things about my self that I never knew,
The greatest lesson you taught me was to love unconditionally,
I became a better person because of you,
Through your eyes, I saw the world in a whole new way,
I learned the best things in life are free,
A child’s smile, a burst of laughter, sticky kisses everyday,
Even though you were the child and I the parent, you were teaching me,
The years flew by so fast, I turned around and you were grown,
You went from being my baby boy to being a wonderful young man,
It was hard to stand back and let you move on,
But I was never far away to lend you a hand,
I watched in awe as my baby boy became a father,
Your daughters were teaching you the lessons you taught me,
The lessons I learnd by becoming your mother,
But the hardest lesson was yet to be,
I had to learn to live with a broken heart son, God had other plans for you,
It was time for you to go, your work here was done,
I hold on to my memories, to help get me through,
Shane I want to thank you for all the memories,
For almost twenty years of love and laughter,
And for all the lessons you taught me,
Shane you live on in my heart, where you will be forever.
Loved you then, love you now, love you forever.
