FINGERPLAY

As you are singing this song draw it on a dry erase board or with color crayons and paper. Or just do it in the air with your fingers. The children love taking turns drawing it also.

What is this I’m making do you know?
Watch my busy fingers see it grow,
These two holes are eyes that look so big and wise
And this three cornered hole is a nose.
A mouth I'll make right here underneath
It ought to have some big shinny teeth
Tis plain to be seen it will soon be Halloween
And this is Mr. Jack o lantern , everybody knows !!!!!!!

Make a pumpkin on a popsicle stick for this song.
Pumpkin Pumpkin, Peek A Boo ,Peek A boo, Peek A Boo,
Pumpkin Pumpkin Peek A Boo,
I see YOU!!!!!!

Glue knot to top of pom-pom for a hanger. You can make yarn any length you want to hang from ceiling, a door, etc.

PUMPKIN PIN
Materials Needed: Orange & green craft foam sheets Tacky glue A pin back 2 small wiggle eyes Thin black ric-rac
Cut a pumpkin (a simple oval or circle is fine) w/out the stem from orange craft foam. Then cut a pumpkin w/ the stem from green craft foam. Have child glue the orange pumpkin on top of the green one. Glue on wiggle eyes and a piece of ric-rac for the mouth. Apply a generous amount of glue to attach a pin back onto the back of the pumpkin. Let glue dry until clear before wearing pin.

PAPER PLATE PUMPINS
Paint paper plates orange using finger paints. Let the paint dry and using yellow paint, add eyes, nose and a mouth. Cut a stem from green construction paper and fasten to the top of the pumpkin.

HALLOWEEN SACK
Since the kids will be collecting prizes, get some small paper sacks with handles. Fill the table with markers, glitter and lots of Halloween stickers & let them decorate their own sacks!

GAMES

*Pumpkin Hoop Toss: Simply a hula hoop thrown over a large pumpkin

*Pin the Tail on the Cat: Make a black cat out of felt & find some great cat eyes at the craft store. Cut a tail out of some fake fur, added rough Velcro on back, & make a blindfold out of leftover felt and elastic.

*Apple Bobbing Noodle Grab: Fill a pot with water & add cooked spaghetti. Add small toys. The spaghetti will float on top & toys will sink to bottom. To get to the toys, kids have to reach into the GROSS mixture! To make it more gross, add green food coloring!

*Pumpkin Roll Race: Let kids have race with medium sized pumpkins.

*Pumpkin Toss Similar to egg tossing. Use a small pumpkin per two players. The two people toss the pumpkin back and forth to each other, each time stepping back away from each other. The person wins who does not drop the pumpkin.
