All facts of Joseph's life are contained in the Holy Gospels.  A scion of the House of David, the foster father of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, was a good man who practised the carpentry trade in Nazareth.  After the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the Gospels have nothing more to say of this Saint who was sufficiently worthy to be selected as the spouse of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, and the foster father of Our Lord.

There is no question but that Saint Joseph died prior to the Savior's Passion, for if Joseph had been alive at the time of Jesus' death, Our Lord would not have commended the care of His Mother to Saint John.

In Honor of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mother.
