What do I believe?

The following terms describe me:

FUNDAMENTAL: No I am not a Bible Thumper, but I do believe that the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God and that it is the last word on morals and doctrine and righteous living. (2Tim. 3:14 - 2Tim. 4:5)

PENTECOSTAL: No I am not a tongue speaking Christian, but I do believe that tongues and the other gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to the believers in the church today. I believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given out as God determines so they will be used for the edification of the church and the glory of God. (1Cor. 12:1 - 14:40)

EVANGELICAL: No I do not go door to door trying to sell you on God, but I do believe that it is the duty and responsibility for all believers to be lights in the world to show the way to Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20)

CATHOLIC: No I am not Roman Catholic, but I am catholic in that I believe that all of us, no matter what denomination church we attend, are part of the one true church which has as its only head, Jesus Christ. (John 17:10-12, 20-23)

ORTHODOX: No I am not Eastern Orthodox, but I have basic doctrinal beliefs that are not unorthodox. My beliefs follow the thinking of evangelical Christian churches. (Gal. 1:6-10)

BAPTIST: Don't ask which convention because I am not a Baptist, but I do believe in the baptism by water and by the Holy Spirit. I believe that water baptism is a sign to others of the change that happens within when a believer makes that total commitment to follow Jesus. I believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is made available to all believers when they come to Christ and that it is necessary for spiritual growth. (Acts 8:34-39, Rom. 6:3-11, Acts 2:37-39, Joel 2:28-32)
