ODORS



A few pieces of activated charcoal placed inside your refrigerator will keep away odors. Activated charcoal is not the same as bar-b-que charcoal. Activated charcoal can be purchased cheaply at a pet supply store

Small amounts of vinegar placed in glass or plastic containers and put in inconspicuous places around the house will clear out most unwated odors

Place unwrapped bars of soap into drawers and closets to keep them smelling fresh. after about six months, replace the bars with fresh ones and use the older ones for bathing(Rabbit)

Spray Lysol spray into your cold air return vents while the fan is running to keep your house smelling fresh and also cut down on cold and flu germs. Do this once a week(Jude)

Mint flavored coffee beans placed in open containers will remove smoke and other odors from rooms and closets(Shirley)

Clip a fabric softener sheet onto the heating vents to keep rooms smelling fresh(Karyn)

After chopping onions, wet your hands and sprinkle on some salt, rub hands together well and rinse with some lemon juice or water to remove the onion smell(Val)

Save orange, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine peels in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. When you have strong odors in your garbage disposal run a few of these peels through the disposal to get rid of them(MrsDumplin)

If you happen to burn the popcorn in the microwave, place some crumpled up newspaper in the microwave and leave in overnight to get rid of the smell(MrsDumplin)

To cook fish without the odor, bake the fish with some milk added to the pan. About 1/4 cup for a 6x9 pan, more milk for a larger pan(Debbie)

Dab a little bit of vanilla extract onto a light bulb with a cotton ball. The heat of the light bulb will spread the nice smell through out the room(JimR)
