In the name of God, Amen. I, Arthur Williams, being sick and weak in body but in perfect mind and memory, blessed be God therefore and calling to mind the frailty of the body and the certainty of death, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth.
In primus, I do recommend my soul to almighty God who gave it to me, nothing doubting, but at the resurrection to receive the same again and my body to be entered in the earth with decent burial at the discretion of my executors, hereafter to be mentioned. And as for what earthly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with, I do will and bequeath them in manner and form as follows.
To my eldest son Herod Williams, I give 20 shillings.
To my son Thomas I give 20 shillings.
To my daughter Mary, the now wife of Jacob White, I give 20 shillings.
To my son Absalom Williams, I do give 260 acres of land part of the survey that I purchased of John Proctor joining to William Proctor, divided by a line from ____ south, to him and his heirs forever.
To my son Noah Williams, I give and bequeath to him the plantation whereon I now live, with the remaining part of the above mentioned tract in the while 324 acres to him and his heirs forever. Also to him, my son Noah, I do give an entry of 100 acres of land joining the land whereon I now live.
All the rest of my estate of goods and chattels of every kind I do lend the use of to my true and loving wife Unity during her natural life and also I do lend to her my said wife the use of the manner plantation whereon I now live together with house and liberty of __ing fencing stuff and firewood and all other necessary privileges for an during her natural life, and it is my desire that at her death, all the remainder part that is to say all that part that I lent to her, may equally divided between six of my children, that is to say, Joseph, Henry, Sarah, Absalom, Nancy, and Noah, and it is my desire that it may be divided without sale according to the discretion of my executor.
Lastly, I do appoint John Williams to be my executor. To see that this my last will and testament be fulfilled and executed according to law assigned, sealed, published, pronounced, and described to be the last will and testament.

In the Name of God Amen. I Giles Williams of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina being well in body and of sound mind and perfect memory, thank God for his mercies toward me but calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that all men must die, I do make this to be my Last Will and Testament in the manner and form following.
1st - I lend to my wife Sarah Williams, her natural life, one Hundred acres of land. Including my Houses of every description being the lower part of two Hundred acres and negroes Daniel and Redden. Also all my parishonable property after all just debts being paid, except what is hereafter given in legacies.
2nd - I give and bequeath to my son Bright Williams one negroe man Luke.
3rd - I gave and bequeath to my son Giles Williams one hundred acres of land being the upper part of two hundred acres, also a remnant bought of Noah Pittman also one hundred acres where my wife now lives after her death, also one negro Redden after my wife's death.
4th - I gave and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Thompson one negro boy Sollomon.
5th - I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Malcy Inman one bed and furniture, also one negro man Daniel after my wife's death, and after my wife's death all the parishonable property left by her, to be sold by my Executors and the money arising from such sale to be equally divided among all my lawful heirs, namely Benjamin Williams, Bright Williams, Giles Williams, the heirs of Charity Inman (died) to have her distributive share, Nancy Pittman, Christian Floyd, Sarah Thompson, Polly Lewis, and Susannah Inman. I also appoint my two sons, Bright Williams and Giles Williams, Executors to this my last will, and testament and I do hereby revoke, disallow, and disannul all and every other former will testament, legacies, or bequeaths by me before made, ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I do hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of November one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty nine.
Signed, sealed, and acknowledged by the said Giles Williams to be his last will and testament in presence of (viz?) whose names are hereunto subscribed.

"Mrs. Ferribe Ham Died Yesterday.
Mrs. Ferribe Ham, aged 82 years, died at the residence of her son, Mr. T. F. Ham (This would be Thomas Franklin) 1117 Nineteenth Street, at three o'clock Friday afternoon after an illness of four days of bronchial trouble, although she had been in bad health for about three years. The deceased was a member of Comer Memorial Baptist church and is survived by six children and one step-son, Messrs. C.T., T. F., and J.L. Ham, of Columbus, and Mr. George Shepherd Ham, of Talladega Springs, Ala.; Mrs. S. L. McLeroy and Mrs. F. E.Tarvin ( could this be Frances ? I never knew if she married or to whom.) of Columbus, and Mrs. F. E. Newsome, of Fort Gaines, GA.
The funeral will take place from the house this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and interment will be at Riverdale cemetery. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. A. D. Woodle assisted by Rev. A.T. Hart.
