clear glass or plastic ornaments
acrylic paints in different colours.
Rinse the inside of the ornaments
with a mixture of one part
water to three parts vinegar,
let dry for at least 30 minutes. Then squeeze a small amount of paint inside
the ornament. Use up to three different colours. Place ornament on paper
cup and rotate every 5-10 minutes until paint has covered entire surface.
(don't skimp on this step, or the paint will end up not sticking to the
ornament. Turn upside down to let excess paint drain out. Let dry
5 days. Replace hangers, and voila! These look really pretty.
You need:
Glass Christmas balls (dark colors
do best).
Can of very gold spray paint
An old throw away container that
is plastic. (Old ice cream bucket)
First
take off the little tops that you hang the balls from the tree with but,
be careful because sometimes they break.
Next
fill the old container with water about 1/2 to 3/4 the way up. Then spray
the paint on top of the water. It's really weird but, it will float.
Next
put a dowel or something that will fit in the top hole of the
ball and dip the ball into the
water kind of twisting as you do this to get a swirl effect.
Then
put the balls back into the little cardboard holder they were in to dry.
This drying takes about a day or so depending on the weather.
MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS IN A WELL VENTLATED AREA OR OUTSIDE!!!
When dry put the tops back on,
hot glue a bow to the hanger part and you have it. It makes the coolest
looking ornaments and your friends
will all want to know how you
did it.
