one burnt out light bulb
child's red sock
small piece of string
scissors
acrylic paints: red, black
and white - and a paint brush
small fabric bow
hot glue gun and glue sticks
gold cord, approximately
6" long
Instructions:
Turn the bulb so that the stem is pointing up.
Using acrylic paints, paint a face on the bulb. Let dry completely. If you wish, you can use purchased googly eyes and/or you can cut a mouth out of red felt and glue it on. If you want to make a carrot nose, use a piece of orange felt cut into a small triangle.
Turn the child's sock inside-out.
Tie the small piece of string around the sock just under the toe.
Tie tightly. Cut off most of the
sock above the string. Turn the
sock right-side out. Turn up the edge of the sock. You've made a touque.
Position the touque over the stem of the bulb and tack it down with hot glue.
Glue the bow just underneath the mouth to form a bow tie.
Tie the two ends of your 6" gold
cord together to form a loop. Tack the loop to the back of the bulb to
form a hanger.
