Jonathan Jackson was born on May 11, 1982, in Orlando, Florida.
He spent most of his childhood living in Battle Ground, Washington,
where he went to a private school.While in school, Jonathan enjoyed playing
Basketball & Baseball, in fact, he was on his school's teams.
Upon a family visit to Universal Studios in 1991, Jonathan and brother
Richard decided they wanted to become actors.
So soon after, Richard moved to L.A. where he was later joined by
Jonathan and their mother.Jonathan appeared in several commercials, including one for Kellogg's Corn
Pops, before landing his first mayor role in General Hospital,
where he made his first appearance on October 29, 1993,as the adventurous Lucky Spencer, son to Luke & Laura Spencer,
considered by many to be the most famous couple on daytime television.
For his work as Lucky in General Hospital, Jonathan has won several prestigious awards,such as the Daytime Emmy, for Outstanding
Younger Actor in a Drama Series, in 1995 and he was nominated again in
1996 and 1997. He also won the Hollywood Reporter's YoungStar award
for Best Actor in a Daytime Television Series in 1996 and recently won in
it again for 1997.
It was rumoured that Jonathan was leaving GH after his contract ran out on
November 1996, but ABC announced that Jonathan was staying. This is excellent
news for both fans of Jonathan and of General Hospital!
On a more personal note, Jonathan enjoys sports, playing the guitar and fencing. "I was sitting at the dinner table and I just thought it out of the blue 'cause I had seen it as I was driving past. It's pretty cool..." says Jonathan about how he became interested in fencing, a regal sport which he practices regularly. Jonathan also plays, sings and composes for a band called Scarlet Road, alongside his dad and his brother Richard. Jonathan thinks it's cool to get autographs and other memorabilia of the people he admires. This includes both actors and sport stars, as Jonathan also likes collecting both football and baseball stuff.
