WARNING!!!
The following information will blow the whole story for you!!
I bought the TITANIC script by writing this guy Joe ( J1FILM@aol.com ) asking then he wrote back and said that it's $15.00 including shipping and handling. So I wrote back with all my info...address and stuff. I read the whole thing after I wrote you and it's very upsetting. Rose and Jack are both in the water and Jack makes Rose promise that she'll hang on. They're both clinging to some wood and Rose keeps saying that if one goes the other does. Rose looks around to see if any boats will come get them when she looks at Jack and he looks asleep. Their hands are frozen together, so Rose breathes on them to part from Jack. She then lets him fall into the darkness of the ocean. I cried when I read this. The reason that they fall in love is because Jack saves her life. You know in the preveiw on ET when Rose say 'Don't come any closer. I'll jump.' 'No you won't' says Jack. They talk a bit after that when she's still hanging over the edge, and then she turns around to come back and she slips on her dress. Jack catches her hand and saves her. The whole time they're together Jack assures Rose that if she jumps he does too. It's so sad.
Leo's character...
Jack is very
funny. When he's talking to Rose right before he saves her life, he sys
that he'll have to go in after her. She says that he'd kill himself and he
goes on about the temperature of the water and how he's used to the cold
since his hometown was really cold in the winter. So, as they're talking he
takes his jacket off and his shoes one by one and starts to climb over the
railing. He makes a lot of sarcastic remarks and is so cute. Rose says some
things that totally fly over his head that he doesn't understand.
Also, if you wonder how he got on the Titanic...at the begginning he's
playing cards and he wins two tickets, so he takes his friend along with
him. They get the tickets two minutes before the boats leaves and they just
make it aboard.
More info...
Well...the whole time Leo has his eye on Rose, but doesn't talk to her
until
she tries to kill herself. They never sleep together, but Rose suggests
that he draw her wearing ONLY the diamond necklace (which is called the
heart of the ocean that her fiance Cal gave to her). When he starts
drawing,
Rose says "I believe you are blushing, Mr. Big Artiste. I can't imagine
Monsieur Monet blushing." Jack sweating says " He does lanscapes" So cute.
Umm...the reason Rose does not go 'with' Jack is because she promised that
she'd never give up. She swam over to an officer's floating body and blew
the whistle which caused a boat to turn around.
A romantic part is the picture I sent of them 'flying'. Jack takes Rose
with her eyes closed to the bow of the boat, stretches her arms out and
tells her to open them. She sreams out 'I'm flying'. Throughout the movie
there's not much romantic action but the thoughts are intence.
At the end, Rose and Jack on holding onto a floating staircase.
Contrary to popular belief, Jack and Rose DO sleep together!! In the back seat of a car that is being transported on the ship!
Jack and Rose get in the car, and she pulls him in the back seat. He asks her if she is nervous, and she says she isn't. he starts kissing her and then it goes to another scene. then they come back to them and all of the windows in the car are fogged up. she slams her hand against the window and makes a big handprint! Afterward, she says he is trembling and he says he is okay. he lays his head on her chest and they just lay there! earlier, she tells him that she wants him to draw her wearing ONLY that necklace! her kimono drops to the floor and the directions in the script call of Jack to have SUCH a shocked look on his face that it is almost comical!!
A great quote that is repeated throughout the story:
"You jump, I jump right?"-Jack and Rose
JUST BEFORE THE SHIP GOES TOTALLY DOWN AND JACK(LEO) + ROSE(KATE) ARE ON THE TOP OF THE SHIP ON THE RAILING AND IT'S STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR:
The final relentless plunge begins as the stern section floods. Looking down a hundred feet to the water, we drop like an elevator with Jack and Rose.
JACK:
(talking fast)
Take a deep breath and hold it right before we go into the water. The ship will suck us down. Kick for the surface and keep kicking. Don't let go of my hand. We're gonna make it Rose. Trust me.
She stares at the water coming up at them, and grips his hand harder.
ROSE:
I trust you.
Below them the poop deck is dissapearing. The plunge gathers speed...the boiling surface engulfs the docking bridge and then rushes up the last thirty feet.
IN A HIGH SHOT, we see the stern descend into the boiling sea. The name TITANIC dissapears, and the tiny figures of Jack and Rose vanish under the water.
Where the ship stood, now there is nothing. Only the black ocean.
Bodies are whirled and spun, some limp as dolls, others struggling spasmodically, as the vortex sucks them down and tumbles them.
Jacck rises into frame F.G kicking hard for the surface...holding tightly to Rose, pulling her up.
AT THE SURFACE: a roiling chaos of screaming, thrashing people. Over a thousands people are now floating where the ship went down. Some are stunned, gasping for breath. Others are crying, praying, moaning, shouting...screaming.
Jack and Rose surface among them. They barely have time to gasp for air before people are clawing at them. People driven insane by the water, 4 degrees below freezing, a cold so intense it is indistinguishable from death by fire.
A man pushes Rose under, trying to climb on top of her...senselessly trying to get out of the water, to climb onto anything. Jack PUNCHES him repeatedly, pulling her free.
JACK
Swim, Rose! SWIM!
She tries, but her strokes are not as effective as his because of her lifejacket. They break out of the clot of people. He has to find some kind of floatation, anything to get her out of the freezing water.
JACK
Keep swimming. Keep moving. Come on, you can do it.
All around them there is a tremendous wailing, screaming and moaning...a chorus of tormented souls. And beyond that...nothing but black water stretching to the horizon. The sense of isolation and hopelessness is overwhelming.
Jack strokes rhythmically, the effort keeping him from freezing.
JACK
Look for something floating. Some debris...wood...anything.
ROSE
It's so cold.
JACK
I know. I know. Help me, here. Look around.
His words keep her focused, taking her mind off the wailing around them. Rose scans the water, panting, barely able to draw a breath. She turns and...SCREAMS...(to be continued)

--JACK--
An artist with a great eye for beauty. Great sense of humor. Third-class passenger that won tickets onto the TITANIC from a poker game. Most prized possesion is his sketch book. Sensitive and smart. The PERFECT kind of guy--knows what to say and when to say it. In his sketch book he has a series of nudes. Leo has a funny line in this scene:
She comes across a series of nudes. Rose blushes, raising the book as some strollers go by.
ROSE
(trying to be very adult)
And these were drawn from life?
JACK
Yup. That's one of the great things about Paris. Lots of girls willing to take their clothes off.

JACK's enemy=CAL
CAL is ROSE's fiancee and he's really really mean! When I was reading the script I wanted to ring the guy's little neck! He slips ROSE's necklace into JACK's pocket so that it looks like JACK stole it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
