  • I'm (again) asking for the R&J special from MTV. Does anyone know where to get it? I really NEED it. I'm also searching for two posters of Benvolio and Tybalt with their guns and written at the bottom of the posters are the words "Capulet" and "Montague". And one thing I wondered about was: How is Romeo's car called? I know the second word is "pilgrim" but what is the first? I hope anyone can help me, so if you can, please e-mail me. --- Hanna
  • I've been looking over every Romeo and Juliet site imaginable, however, I just can't seem to find any information on the costumes. Your site seems to be the most detailed so, I thought you might know where I might beable to find out some information on the costumes? In particular, the famous Angel costume Juliet was wearing at the Party. I'd like to have some full length pics of it if possible as I need to get an idea of the design of it. It is difficult to see how the wings attach to it in the movie, so I'd be grateful for any assistance you may provide. ---Lauren

  • First of all, I know you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that. But to make such a huge site for one of the worlds most largest mistake in the history of movies, is a waste of time. If you consider yourself a fan of ROMEO AND JULIET, don´t consider yourself a fan of the movie (and Leo Di Caprio). The ´96 movie insultes Shakespeare. It just changes so many things, like the balcony scene in the pool. Hello? Isn´t that stupid? I REALLY love Romeo and Juliet, it has been one of my passions since I was five (I am 15). I think the ´68 movie is much better (in actors and in scenes and music and costumes, ect) If you really love the story (not the ´96 movie) I suggest you watch Zeffirelli´s version or better yet read the book! (There´s a great book by the editorial Barrons that in one book has the modern english version side by side with full original text). If you have anything to say please write me. ---Jackie

  • Some news from Verona lol, actually news on Claire If you check out your local video rental place, You'll find a new release with Claire in it. Its called "I love you, I love you not" also starring James Van Der beek (from Dawson's Creek) and also Jude Law (Gattaca) Its pretty good movie. A funny part is where Claire as Daisy says "F*&%" and "S#^&" loudly to her grandma. ---Alexandra I finally bought the Barbie and Ken as Romeo and Juliet. They were quite expensive, but worth every cent. I also went shopping in Berkley and as I was browsing through a small art boutique, I found a beautiful silver pin that simply said: "Juliet-Where were we supposed to meet again? -Romeo" and dangling from the bottom was a dagger and a bottle of poison. I bought it for $46 dollars since the store was going out of business and it was 50% off the original price of $92. What a deal!!! I watched 68' R+J last night since I am headding off to college day after tomorrow, and I had a nice long cry. Weeping over that film and 96' R+J is incredibly therapudic. I strongly reccomend it. ---Juliet in Verona(Sacramento)
  • I'm looking for the R&J postcards that were in the Women & Teen mags when the movie came out in Nov '96. I need Hope, Despire, Love & Death. ---gwinkler@sprint.ca

  • I was just checking out your web page and I found it ver interesting. The reason I was searching something about Romeo & Juliet was that I am doing a paper on how the original version by Shakespeare was adapted to the 1996 movie. Specifically how they modernized the classic to make it interesting for the adolescents. So I was just wondering if you have any information about what I want to write about or if you know where I can search for some information. ---Julieta
  • Does the R&J 1968 soundtrack have the love theme with no words? You know where it sounds like people are just humming? I love that version. I've never heard the version with words. What's it called the love theme? Is that the same thing as "A time for us?" ---Luis
  • Hi from Scotland

  • About the Romeo and Juliet 1968 movie:
My name is Jose Eduardo and I am from Brazil. I've just visited your Site about Romeo and Juliet and I found it very interesting. Well, I'd like to know if you know who is the author of the music of the party in Capulet's house. Not the "What is a youth" song, but the one everyone is dancing and Tybalt went to tell to old Capulet that Romeo is there. If you understood which music I am talking about (because my english is terrible) and if you know the author and the name, I'd ask you to send an e-mail to me. ---Jose

Some Romeo and Juliet 1968 information on Leonard Whiting (Romeo)

Mr. Whiting currently resides in Kentish Town, a suburb of London, with his wife, and youngest daughter. He also owns a Yorkshire Terrier named Katie. He has written a musical play, and is hard at work trying to get it produced. ---ImTempest
  • More Leonard Whiting stuff:
I read, with great interest, your bio on Leonard Whiting! I first fell in love(me and a few million other 13 yr olds) with him while watching Romeo & Juliet. I also saw "Frankenstein" when it was first broadcast in the US as a mini series (over two nights) I believe it was on NBC. After watching that, I also became a fan of Michael Serrazin(sp?)He played the Monster. Although it was a horror story, Mr. Serrazin made the monster so sad and heartbreaking. It really is a tear jerker, and a tragedy.Nothing like the old Boris Karloff, Bela Lagosi "comedys". Anyway, the real reason I'm writing is to tell you about another Len Whiting movie I remember catching years and years ago on the late nite movie, but wasn't included in your bio. I can't think of the name of it, but he played a young man who falls for a much older woman-I think it was the actress Jean Simmons ((sp?)British actress). In fact I think the word "Love" is in the tile. He persues her until she finally gives in. I'm thinking of it as an early all- white British version of the new movie"How Stella Got Her Groove On"(Smile)with Angela Basett! Anyway, if you knew of this movie, but forgot to include it in your bio, please revise it for us Len Whiting Fans. And if it's the first you heard about it, then let me know and I will try and locate the name and other particulars so that maybe you can rent it. I remember it being a very charming, funny, but sad movie-because I think at the end, Ms. Simmon's character has to break Mr. Whiting's character's heart. Let me know what you find! ---Denise

  • Miriam Margoyles (The Nurse in R + J) played the matchmaker in Mulan. Also, when I saw a preview for the X-Files movie, they played "O Verona" as well as in the movie. I wanted to tell you that your site KIX and it would be really awesome if you made a "Signs You Are Obsessed..4". Thanx for taking the time to make a good R+J site. ---Juliet R+J ROX!
  • I went on vacation to North Wildwood, New Jersey. I spent alot of time on the boardwalk. They had this one store called Cookies which had alot of Titanic posters, regular Leonardo Dicaprio posters, and Romeo and Juliet posters. They also had a lot of postcards of Leo and some other postcards from his movies. They also had Leonardo keychains and stickers. On the boardwalk they had all sorts of Leonardo shirts which I had never seen before. Some of the games on the boardwalk had framed Leonardo Dicaprio pictures as prizes. I bought alot of Leonardo merchandise on my trip. ---Kelly

  • Ad for R + J on video in this week's Entertainment Weekly (w/Spice Girls on front).
  • The recent trailor for The Avengers does NOT include "O Verona" from R + J, but the past trailor does. I just saw the trailor...just before Lethal Weapon...and that's how I know why. Also, last weekend I saw Dr. Doolittle (awful movie..not very funny) and John Lequizamo does a voice for one of the animals, but I could not tell which one (stupid me).

  • I can't believe it! While watching the sneak previews before seeing Lethal Weapon 4. The Avengers played the music "O'Verona." What is with these movies. They have to copy music from Romeo and Juliet. I guess they can't be original. ---Margaret
