Kellie and Renée were already kneeling at Anji's side, Renée was crying uncontrollably. A young man with a hat pulled low over his face knelt down beside them while another tried to pull the other girls away. "Call an ambulance!" screamed Kellie.
Anji stirred. She opened her eyes and stared into the bluest eyes she had ever seen. "*Qu'est-ce que est arrivé?" she asked groggily. "*Ces garçons ont ta frappé," murmured Renée "*Quoi?" "Can you move everything?" asked a deep voice. "Any broken bones?" "*Je ne sais pas..." "Speak English," whispered Kellie. "I don't think they understand." "I don't know," repeated Anji. "My head is throbbing, and my shoulder feel like it's on fire." She winced in pain, "My knee..." "I don't think we should move her," said someone. "Did you call an ambulance?" asked another voice. "What are we going to do?" asked the one with the blue eyes.
Anji began shivering. "I'm so cold," she whispered. Kellie made a move to take off her jacket, but one of the guys shrugged out of his jacket and laid it on top of Anji. "What are we going to do?" repeated the one with the blue eyes. "I don't know!" snapped one of the others. "We have to do something!" cried Renée. "She's going to freeze lying on the ground like that. And what if a car comes?" They could hardly understand her, her accent became more pronounced when she was nervous or agitated. Kellie understood though. "We'll have to move her I suppose, I don't think it's her back." She bent down, "Anji, can you hear me?" Anji nodded weakly. "Does your back hurt? Can you feel you legs?" "*Oui," Anji said softly noddling her head. "*Mon dos... it doesn't hurt" "Okay," said one with dark hair. "Let's put her in our car." The one with the bright blue eyes scooped Anji up in a fluid motion. "Let me know if I'm hurting you," he said. "Who are you?" asked Anji as she slipped into unconsciousness.
