“Samantha, I’m very sorry, but it’s over.” Brian said that for the fifth time in ten minutes. She had started by crying, then she ignored him, after that she yelled and now she was crying again. Brian thought she was probably just embarrased because some of her friends were there. He knew she had been playing a game with him and he was tired of that game. He always lost. But first the for time, he would win over Samantha. “Bye.” He left her, standing there, alone. He went at the counter and ordered something to drink. That’s when he say her.

“Are you going on tour soon?” Alicia asked Justin. “I’m leaving in 3 days for 2 months and a half. It’s too bad that you just arrived and I have to leave. Wait a sec, I have to go to the bathroom.” She smiled. Justin was so nice with her. He was her best friend, along with Sabrina. It was nice knowing somebody here.

Suddenly, a hand gently touched her shoulder. Just by the way he touched her, she knew it was: “Brian Littrell. I’m very happy to see you again. How are you?” “I’m find. Thank you.” The high-beat music change into a romantic ballad. “Would you like to dance?” he asked her, smiling. “With pleasure.” she answered. He was so nice and sweet with her. He took her hand and lead her to the dance floor. She put her hands around his shoulder and him, around her waist. ‘He is such a good dancer’, she thought. Then she saw Justin, sitting at the counter and looking at her. He smiled at her in an encouraging way. He looked at his watch, pointed a hand at it and she nodded. He had to go. He waved good bye and sent her a flying kiss.

The music was almost over when they looked at each other. Brian bent over a little and kissed her gently. It was the nicest kissed she had ever received in her life. So sweet and his lips were so soft, tasted so good. They kissed again.

A pair of hand seperated them abruptly, taking away the magic. A girl came in front of Alicia and started screaming at Brian. “You asshole! You were cheating on me! I can’t believe it, Brian!” she slapped him in the face and he didn’t had time to react before she continued. “Everything was so perfect and you had to cheat with the first girl who came accross your way! I knew all along you were like that but I loved you! I would never of done anything like it to you!” He pushed her aside but it was too late. Alicia was gone.

* A week later, at the boys’ house *

Brian was cooking supper with AJ while Nick was sitting at the table, looking at them. They were all in very good mood. Howie was out with a new date and Kevin had escaped hours ago with Tiffany, his girlfriend. Nick had teased them all day but they had a great time anyways. “What are you guys doing tonight?” AJ asked. “I should probably go out and flirt a bit, but I guess I’m not in the mood. You know, I haven’t done that in such a long time!” Nick said, kind of proud. “Yeah, what’s wrong with you!?!” Brian said. “I don’t know, I guest I’m just weak these days.” Turning the conversation around, he asked Brian, “What’s going on with that girl, Alicia?”

Brian hadn’t said one thing about her since the day he had broke up with Sam. “Who?” AJ asked. “Alicia. She’s the reporter who did an interview with us about 2 weeks ago. Brian has a thing for her and I want to know what’s up with that!!!” Nick was messing up Brian’s hair, who pushed him away. “Stop it Nick!” he said laughing. “I haven’t seen her since the day at the club. She left without giving me her number and I have no idea where she lives.” He wasn’t in the mood to talk about it. “Did you called the magazine?” AJ asked, while searching for something to drink. “Which magazine?” Brian said, puzzled. AJ turned around. “Wake up Brian! The magazine she workes for!” He hadn’t thought about that. He ran to his room, found the phone book and dialed the number. “Hi, may I speak with Alicia Crew please.” “She is doing an interview at the moment, can I take a message?” “Could you please tell me where I can reach her?” he asked nervously. “Sorry, I can’t you give her private phone number or adress but she should be finish soon. Maybe you could call again in about twenty minutes.” “Thank you very much!” He hanged the telephone, change into some classic and an orange shirt, ran down the stairs and he was already out when AJ called him to eat supper.

He drived his blue jeep very fast to the magazine office and he parked in front of the main entrance. He was getting out when he saw her running threw the rain and entering a bus cabin. Where was her car? He took the umbrella that he always kept in his backseat and ran to the cabin. “Alicia?” “Brian! How are you?” She kissed him on both cheeks and smiled. “What are you doing here?” “I came to see you.” She looked worried. “Is something wrong?” “No, no, nothing important. Can I offer you a ride home?” “Of course, thank you! I hate having to take the bus but my car broke down yesterday.”

They went to the car and he started driving. “Where do you live?” “I have an appartment a couple of street away. It’s near but too far to walk, especially in the rain.” She made a pause. “Tell me, why did you wanted to see me?” He took a deep breath. “I wanted to talk to you. About the other night.” Her smile was gone and she looked out of the window. “There’s not much to say Brian.” “It’s not what you think. It was over with her but she just didn’t get it! Alicia, you don’t know Sam, you just can’t understand but please, trust me, it was over and it still is.” “Turn right here.” There was a pause. “I believe you Brian but it doesn’t really change anything. I didn’t came here to fall in love, I came to become a famous reporter and especially, be independant. ... It’s here.”

She opened the door and got out of the car. The visibility was not good on the road and there were a lot of lightnings. A storm was near. “Do you want to come in? Take a drink or something like that?” Brian wasn’t sure whether to accept the invitation or not. She did tell him she wasn’t interested but he didn’t wanted to give up on her. “Sure, thank you.”

They walked in the appartment and her mind was racing. He was all she had ever dreamed of and she had a feeling that this dream could become true if she would only let it happened but she was afraid it would be bad for her career. She had promised herself a long time ago that nothing would ever come before her job. “I really like it!” Brian said, looking around. “Thank you!” Alicia was really proud of it.

Brian walked toward her and gently took her hands. “Alicia, I have something to ask you. I don’t know you that well but there’s one thing I do know. I love you. Since the first time I saw you. Could you please give me a chance? Do you want to go out with me?” He looked deep inside her eyes and she did the same thing. She had always dreamed about this moment. Brian Littrell. Alicia had loved him for as long as she could remember. But her career... She had to be honest with him. “Brian, there’s something I have to tell you. ... I’ve always wanted to be independant, successfull, have a job, an appartment of my own. I worked hard for this and I finally have it. I’m not ready to let it go.” “That’s not what I’m asking you! All I want is your love. You can keep everything else sweetie. I will never ask you to let go of anything you like! Never, I promise.” She nodded. “I love you too Brian.” She got closer to him and he kissed her gently. A long, sweet kiss that showed her just how much her loved her. He put his arms around her waist and holded her very tight. She was finally his.

“Do you want to come to my house?” Brian asked her. “To do what?” “Visit, I guess. I want you to meet the guys again and show you around.” “I’d like that.” She smiled and kissed him. Brian didn’t let go of Alicia’s hand for all the way to the boys’ house and he kissed her at every stop. He was so sweet, she thought. When they arrived, Nick and AJ were listning to music. Brian was still holding Alicia’s hand and he was obviously very proud of her. “Nick, AJ, this is Alicia.” Nick was already giving her one kiss on both cheeks. “Brian didn’t stop talking about you since you did the interview! He’s really crazy about you!” In her ear, but loud enough for the others to hear. “I have to tell you that he’s kind of sensitive, please don’t break his heart. I’ll be the one who’ll have to pick him up after.” “Nick, would you leave her alone!” He pulled him away and put his arm around Alicia’s waist. “He’s always like that, just ignore him. I thought he would grow up someday but it seems that this day won’t come anytime soon. Anyways, do you want to visit the house?” “Yeah, why don’t you start with upstairs?”

They just ignored Nick and started with the basement. There was a recording studio and a big dance room were they could practice their choreography or have some parties. “Nick and I bought this house a year ago. Howie, Kevin and AJ each have their own houses but they’re here most of the time. It’s big enough for everyone.” “Why didn’t you bought your own house?” “At the time we bought it, Nick was too young to have his own place. He’s my best friend and kind of like my little brother as well and it’s nice having him around. Anyways, the house is very big so if I want to be alone it’s easy to find a quiet place. ”

Then, they went up again to the first floor and Brian showed her the television room, that look more like a home cinema with the big screen and the surround soud system. Finally, they headed upstairs with Nick whistling in the background. “His he always like that?” Alicia asked Brian. “Most of the time. You’ll get use to it honey. He just want some attention.” “Oh, it doesn’t bother me. He’s kind of cute.” Brian looked at her. “What do you mean, cute?” She smiled and kissed him. They entered the bedroom who was huge.

There was many windows, a big water bed, a whole sound system and closets that were jammed with clothes. She took him by the hand and sat on his bed. He looked at her beautiful green eyes and he kissed her, his mouth opening hers as his arms tightened around her. Her arms were around his body as well, her hand on the back of his head as they kissed, and suddenly someone knocked on the door.

“Brian? Alicia?” “Nick, would you leave us alone!” Brian was furious this time. “It’s AJ, Brian. I have to talk to you.” There was panic in his voice. Brian and Alicia looked at each other and understood they would have to continue this another time. “Come in AJ.” “I’m sorry to interrupt. Alicia, someone called for you two minutes ago. A man who wouldn’t identify himself. He asked me to tell you to call your mom right now. It’s urgent.” Alicia ran to the phone who was on Brian’s desk. She dialed her number and waited. “Mom, it’s me. What’s wrong? .... Who? ... How? ... “ She bursed into tears and Brian came closer. “How did it happened? ... Is she going to be alright? ... “ She was now crying so hard she had trouble talking and listning to what her mom had to say. Brian took her in his arms while she tried to understand what her mother was telling her. “But how is she? ... Call Pam and tell her I’m on the next plane to Canada.” Brian looked at AJ with terror in his eyes. Was he already going to loose her? “Thanks ... I love you too.” She hanged up and cried in Brian arms for what seemed like hours.

She finally explained something to Brian, AJ and Nick, who had just joined them. “It’s Sabrina, my best friend. She just had a terrible car accident and she seems in pretty bad shape. She’s still uncounsious and the doctor thinks there was a brain trauma.” Her green eyes were filled with pain and it was obvious that she cared a lot for Sabrina. “I have to go Brian.” She didn’t wanted to leave him but she had too. “I understand Ali but I won’t let you go alone. I’m coming with you.” He looked very determinated and she didn’t dare say anything. She wanted him to be with her because she knew it would be hard. “And I’m coming too.” Nick said. Alicia looked up at him. “You don’t have to do this Nick. I’m going to be fine.” “No you’re not. Not unless I’m there to make you laugh. And if she’s your friend, she must be good looking!”

She bursed into tears again and Brian gave a killer look to Nick who understood what he had just done. The chances were Sabrina wasn’t looking at her best now. He walked to her and said: “I’m sorry Ali. I shouldn’t have said that. Let’s go, we’ll have to take you to your appartment if you want to pack.” She nodded. “Thanks Nick. You too AJ. You’re all very nice to me.” “Me too?” Brian asked in a small voice. “Of course you too ... I love you Brian.” He kissed her, threw some clothes in a suitcase, then took her hand and lead her to his jeep.
