Hang On To It Chapter 3

written by: Vonnie

I counted all 5 guys of course, but there were plenty of girls there too. I'm guessing they're the boys' girlfriends. Of course I saw Katie, Vonnie, and Kali. I was kind of happy to see them, you know? After all we've been through together....anyway. I saw a girl standing next to Howie and another girl being hugged by Kevin. I smiled. They all looked so happy.

"Hi everybody!" I said cheerfully. They all turned to me.

"Ohmigosh!" Brian cried. I laughed because the way he said it, man it was funny. He sounded happy, surprised, shocked, and just plain wierd, all at once! I put my hands on my hips and glared at him. Joking, of course.

"Well, hello to you too," I said. They laughed and attacked me, again. My mind flashed back to the time they did the SAME thing in the airport parking lot. I guess I didn't mind as much now since they couldn't really mess up my hair this time. Kevin grabbed my head and gave me a noogie.

"Hey! Letgo!" I laughed. Finally, everyone managed to settle down. My hair was sticking up a bit, but all I had to do was shake my head a little bit, and it was perfect. I smiled to myself. 'Cool!' I thought.

"How ya been?" asked Nick. I squinched my nose.

"Busy. You?"

"Busy," he laughed.

"Ow!" cried Howie when the girl next to him jabbed him in the stomach with her elbow. Howie gave her a strange look, but finally got it. "Oh, I'm sorry. Nicole, this is Noelle. Noelle, Nicole." We shook hands and smiled.

"I've heard so much about you," said Noelle. She looked fairly pretty. She must've dyed her hair though, it was a reddish brown color. She had many necklaces around her neck and tons of eye shadow on. From the first look, she might even look like a weirdo. But she was very sweet.

I giggled. "Oh? Were they good things?"

Noelle smiled passionately up at Howie and said, "Of course."

"And," said Kevin. He pointed to his girl, "this is Colleen." To me, Colleen looked so innocent. She had the blondest hair and the bluest eyes. She had a smile that looked so cute, you know? She looked very pretty also and very shy.

"I've heard a lot about you too," she said shyly. I smiled.

"It seems like I'm popular, huh?"

"VERY," agreed Kali. I looked at Katie and Nick.

"So," I teased. "How are you two holding on?"

They laughed and Nick smiled. "Very good," he said. Katie nodded.

"How's Jeffffff?" asked AJ, poking me in the ribs. I slapped his hands.

"I don't knooooow," I said, with the same tone as AJ had used.

"Huh?" all of them asked.

"We've both been pretty busy," I explained. "We only called each other like, once every month. Every time I did call him, he seemed distracted. Oh well."

"That's a bad sign," Vonnie told me.

"Why?"

"Well, when a guy seems distracted or busy on the phone to his girlfriend, that's just a bad sign. I should know it. It happens to me ALL the time," she laughed. We all talked and laughed like there would be no tomorrow. During the discussion of AJ and Brian with no girlfriends, I clutched my stomach trying my hardest not to cause any attention. I remembered I didn't eat any breakfast or lunch that morning and barely ate dinner the night before.

"Are we having dinner yet?" I interrupted. I covered my mouth when they all stared at me. "Oops. Sorry. Who was talking?" They all pointed to Nick. I looked at him. "I'm sorry Nick. I'm just really hungry."

He laughed. "That's ok. I smell the burgers anyway. Let's go."

"Aw, man!" Brian complained giving me a slap on the back. "You just HAD to interrupt right then, huh?"

"What are you talking about?"

"We were just getting the juicy stuff outta Nick about him and Katie! You meanie butt." I laughed and we all walked together towards our deck.
