The Nick Carter Miracle Chapter 4

"Okay. Hey, can I call my mom? I better tell her I'll probably be a little late," I said. "Yeah, sure! C'mon, we can get something to drink while we're down there," she said. I followed her downstairs and into the kitchen. The living room looked like an ordinary living room. There were pictures of the family up on the walls and a nice comfy couch. There were also the gold records up on the wall from the Backstreet Boys' success. It was SO cool. I sat down at the counter and she opened the fridge to get some Mountain Dew. "Here ya go. Hold on, I'll go get the phone, kay?" she said, handing me a glass of the beverage. "Okay. Thanks," I said, and smiled at her. I took another big sigh and looked around the kitchen. My dream just came true, I thought.

Just then my heart started beating fast again. Nick walked into the kitchen. "Hey," he said with a warm smile. "Hi," I said, staring at him as he turned his back to open the fridge. Oh man, I was talking to him. He said hi to me. Okay, Sarah, calm down, I thought to myself. I tried to calm down and stop shaking. He got a Pepsi and sat down in front of me. He looked so gorgeous. His eyes were looking at me. Nick Carter no knows I exist on this earth, I said to myself. "So, uh, are you new here? BJ has never mentioned you before," he said. "Yeah, today was my first day at the high school," I started fidgeting my feet. I was in heaven. "Where did you move from?" he asked me. "Oh, uh, Nebraska. My dad got a great new job." Just then BJ walked in with a cordless phone. "Thanks," I said. "I need to call my mom and tell her where I am. I think she'll be surprised," I said turning to Nick.

I dialed my new number with my trembling hands. My mom answered the phone. <> "Hi Mom! Uh, I wanted to call to tell you where I am..." <> "Um, remember Nick Carter? You know, from the Backstreet Boys?" <> "Well...uh....I met his sister today...and uh..." <> She wasn't really paying attention. "I'm sitting in his kitchen, Mom. He's standing right in front of me!" I looked at Nick and he smiled. I blushed, I could feel my face turning twenty shades of red. <> "I'm in his house! His sister BJ invited me to come over and I got to meet him. He's...he's right here!" I talked to her a minute and then got off the phone. She couldn't believe it. Well, now that I think about it, neither could I! It was Nick Carter, for Pete's sake!!!! "What did your mom say?" BJ asked. "Well, let's just say she was pleasantly surprised!" I said.

"Cool. So, do you have any brothers or sisters?" Nick asked me. "Yeah, I have an 11-year-old sister," I replied. I was beginning to calm down a little. "Come on Sarah, let's watch some TV," BJ said, grabbing my arm. "Okay, uh...bye Nick..." I said, shyly. "See ya, Sarah. I hope to see ya around," he said. I felt a big rush all over my body. He hoped he would see me again. I repeated his exact words over and over in my head. I followed her into the family room. I sat down on the couch. "Wanna watch a movie?" BJ asked. "Yeah, sure," I said. She opened a cupboard underneath the TV. I noticed there was a N-64 system under there. Nick's NINTENDO!!! "How bout....uh," she said, searching a big stack of movies. "Doctor Doolittle?" "Yeah, I've never seen that before. I heard it's pretty funny!" "Man, I laughed my butt off the first time I saw it! You'll like it," she said. I couldn't believe it. We were actually getting to KNOW EACH OTHER.

She started the movie and we ate some popcorn. She was right-that movie was funny as hell! Right in the middle of the movie, the front doorbell rang. "Hold on, I'll be right back," BJ said. She got up and walked down the hallway. I heard her open the door and let someone in. I heard the person's voice and IMMEDIATELY recognized it. "Hey NICK!" BJ yelled. "Brian's here!"
