98º Experiences

My experiences:
May 9, 1999
I arrived 3 hours before the concert was supposed to start because it was limited seating and you could sit wherever you wanted to. The worst part about waiting was the extreme heat! The concert was outside and so was the line to wait. There were 2 shows and you were allowed to go to both of them. The first one was at 5 and the second was started at 8. I was waiting for the 5 o'clock show. When they finally let us in, there was a rush of girls pushing, scratching, and clawing their way to the front row! Not only was 98º performing, but also C Note and Take 5. Once we got seated, I was in the 10th row, which was very close, considering I had to run with someone who had a cast on her leg! We waited for about an hour before the show started. While we were waiting, Take 5 came out and sat in the audience. It was cool and everyone took pictures! Once the show started, C Note opened with "Wait Till I Get Home." They are great dancers!!!! They can sing well, too! After that, Take 5 came out. They are pretty good. I had never heard them before, though. Finally... 98º came out! They were wearing cool camouflage outfits and they opened with "Heat It Up." They sang a lot of songs, some were theirs, others weren't. The ones that weren't theirs were old Motown songs like the Temptations. It was great. Nick looked at me a couple times and I was starting to worry if I had something on my face or something! ;) Jeff looked at me once and I almost melted when I saw his smile because he's my favorite guy, of course! They sang about 15 songs. It was a really long concert and I enjoyed every minute of it! That's why I went back at 8 o'clock. But that time, I didn't have to wait. It was sooo fun! I think I enjoyed the first one better because I had closer seats and it was all new to me! It was the coolest day/night!!! I can't wait until the next concert. They put on a great show!!!!

I bought tickets to the 98º All That concert back in the beginning of May the day tickets went on sale. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, so I got seats in the first balcony, hoping that they were decent and paid around $28 per seat. Well, after some time, I came across a website that was giving away VIP tickets and passes to their concert... the one I was going to! I entered every day! Well, the day of the concert came and I got a phone call saying I had won! I was jumping up and down! I was FINALLY gonna meet 98º!!! I was supposed to pick up my VIP tickets and a bunch of free merchandise at the will call window when I got there. Well, when I arrived, my tickets weren't there! I kept going back to the window and asking like every 5 minutes! I was so mad and I had to wait an hour, until finally they found my tickets! I looked at the tickets and saw that I had Row A! I was so excited, thinking it was front row, so I started to try to sell my old tickets that I had purchased. One guy wanted to give me $5, but that was too cheap, so we decided to keep them in case the VIP tickets turned out bad. And it was a good thing we did because when we got inside, my "VIP" tickets directed us to the ceiling!!! So much for the front row and backstage passes, not to mention the merchandise that I never got!!! I was so upset, so I moved down to the seats I had bought. All of the opening acts were messed up and the sound system in the arena was terrible! It was all muffled. 98º did a great job, but overall I was disappointed since I didn't get to meet them or have great seats, like I had hoped. Plus, I took pictures with a zoom camera I had borrowed, but none of them came out! :( Oh, well... better luck next time! I still love the guys!!!

I went to one of the 98º concerts that was held up at Montage Mountain and it was the absolute best day of my life. We got there at about 5 and walked around a bit, then at about 6:30, they started the music. The oppening act was NYU, then came Aaron Carter, No Authority, Monica, then the band that I was waiting for all night long... 98º! They were absolutely awesome. They came out singing "Heat It Up", I almost melted when they began to sing "Invisible Man", then they ended off singing "The Hardest Thing." Me and a friend actually snuck through security to get better seats just to see them closer. The concert was absolutely awesome. I can't wait till 98º comes back to my hometown.

Hey!!!! I met 98 degrees!!!!! They were all soooo nice!!! This is what happened....my sofbtall team was staying in the same hotel as they were in St. Louis. One of my friends told us that she met Nick! None of us believed her at all!!! But then the next day...we were inside the lobby...and we were walking down the hallway when we saw Jeff!!! We couldn't believe it at all!!! We talked to him a while and he was soo sweet!!!! We walked outside and we were talking to all of them out by their bus!!!! They were all sooo sweet, and very cute! I hope I get to experience that again sometime...but I know its a once in a life time thing!!! Ever since then, I'm a huge fan of 98º.

I got to meet 98 degrees yesterday!!!!! Me and my friend found out where they were staying and we went to the hotel at like 11 am to try and catch them when they came to the hotel. Well, we were there and at about 1:30 pm their bus drove up to the hotel, their dancers got off and no 98 degrees. Then their manager came out and said that they had flown in the night before and that if we wanted to see them to come back at around 6 or 7 and catch them before they got on the vans to go to the concert. Me and my friend went downtown to eat lunch and when we came out it was pouring and we got soaked. It was like 4:00 and we wanted to be at the hotel by 5 so we drove quickly to my friend's house and grabed a change of clothes and went to the hotel. It was like 5:30 when we got there and I was scared that they had already left but then all of a sudden I saw Justin walking outside and we went up to him and asked him for an autograph and a picture. He asked us if we were going to the show and we told him no, because we couldn't find any tickets and he was like, "Oh, I'm sorry." Then he left. About 20 min. later I saw a hot (and I mean HOT) guy walk into the hotel shop and I didn't think anything of it and then when he walked out I realized that it was JEFF!!!! I almost died. He came and took a picture with me and my friend and gave us an autograph and he also asked us if we were going to the show. We told him how we couldn't get tickets and that we were looking everywhere for them. He said "Dude that sucks. I wish I could help you guys out, but we don't get tickets for these type of concerts... HOLD ON!" He whipped out his cell phone and called Jordan Knight. He was like, "Yeah, Jordan. I need two more tickets. For Brandy (my friend). Thanks!!! There you go. I got you in." I could not believe it. He gave us both a hug and said that he would see us at the concert. Then, out comes Nick from the elevator. We got his pic and autograph, too. Then about 1/2 hr. later Drew walks out. When we were getting our pic taken with him he put his arms around us and said "My God you guys make me feel short!" We went to the concert and went to go get our tickets and they asked us who gave them to us and we were like, "Jeff" and the guy said, "Jeff who?" We were like, "From 98º." He was like, "COOL." He gave us our tickets and they were for the 5th row and they even gave us backstage passes. We were not expecting those. So we went backstage and they saw us and Jeff and Drew were like "Hey guys, how's it goin'?" We could not stop thanking them. They were so cool and the concert was great. And after the concert we ran and got flowers for them all and gave them to them at their hotel and Jeff said to us "Oh!!! Thank you guys!!! You are such sweethearts!!" I will remember that day forever.

I have met 98º two times. One time my best friend and I were sitting in my car about 3 hours before the concert and I looked in my rearview mirror and saw Nick. So, we got out and took pictures with them and talked for a little bit. It was great!! Then when they came back for the All That Music and More Fest, we got to meet them again. We had seats that were really far away so we weren't too excited, but then we met a guy from Monica's band and he hooked us up with backstage passes and pavillion seats. Then we met No Authority, EYC, Monica, 98 Degrees again and me and my best friend kissed Josh Server and hung out with him all night. It was the best night of my life!! We love you Josh!!

It was Wednesday, September 22, 1999, (in the morning) and I was so nervous!!!!! I was going to Canada AM Studios to see 98º, my favorite group. With me, I brought a red rose, a cute (stuffed animal) squirrel eating a nut, and a nice sign saying "Heaven's Missing an Angel." All these gifts were for Jeff! Well, that day I slept in by accident, so finally, when I got to the studios I was so nervous and I was so excited! They (Canada AM) had forgotten to tell us that 98º would be performing outside at about 6:30 am!!!!!!!! That didn't matter because I wasn't cold (unlike all the other fans!!!!!!!!!...including all my 20 friends and parents!!!!!). We were all against a fence, and we could see the stage from where we were. The crowd and I were looking at the passing cars to try to figure out which one the guys were in. I was getting really nervous, so when this gray van pulled up, I started to yell aloud, "Jeff, if you're in there, this is for you!!!!!" All my friends said that the guys were actually in there because they could see Drew and Nick!!!!!!!!! Well, at about 5:30 am they started to let us go to the stage! OHHH!! I was so nervous! They told us not to run, so I would have to speed walk! All of a sudden, as it becomes my turn (they guided us to the stage by 5's and 6's) I noticed figures on the stage! Yes! It was the guys there for the sound check!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHHH! They looked sooooo good! So, I kinda speed walked and managed to squeeze myself against the railing of the barricade! And I started to cry! I was just so full of emotion, because these guys haven't been here (in Canada) for so long! Well, I pointed to Jeff and showed him the rose and told him that it was for him! Whether he heard me or not is another story! But anyway, I started getting a little swooshed with people pushing and pushing! Ouch! After the sound check, the guys left and then we had a moment with no one on the stage! At this time, my friends helped me organize my stuff. I put the sign in between the barricade and my knees, and I held on to the roses and stuffed animal. I noticed this woman with a cell phone walking in the space between the barricade and the stage. I said hi and smiled! She noticed my rose and asked who it was for! I said it was for Jeff! She then told me that she was going to bring me to talk to Kim!!!?? At that moment, I thought she was going to take me backstage and I told her that the stuffed animal and the sign were also for Jeff! And she said great! So she removed some of the barrier so that I could pass through. I was crying and she kept telling me that I would be alright!!!!! But I was so nervous! Then she asked me my name and where I was from! And she asked if I knew what I was going to ask them. I had no idea so she quicky told me what I was going to say: "Hi, my name's Melissa, and Jeff, you are my favorite member, can I have a hug??!!!!" Yes, I wrote that right! I'm going to be getting a hug!!! AHHHH!!!!!!! :o) Well, I went to ask my question on air and I was totally freaking out. Jeff said yes, so I had to get out of the crowd and go on to the stage with my presents for him! I went up there and I was crying! I gave him a hug and he kissed me on the cheek! Then, I gave him another hug, and then I gave him his presents! And he said that they were sweet and I asked if he could sign my arm, then I remembered that I had a sign, so I then asked if he could autograph my sign, in which he did!!!!!! And wrote:
To Melissa, All our love, 98º Jeff
AHHH! I love him! Then, I got another hug!!!!!!!! And I was still crying!! (If I forgot to mention, all the grass and surrounding surfaces had dew on them!) Well, me being a klutz, I almost fell, because I tripped on the stage!!!!!!! And after that, I had never-ending tears! I had found my friends and my parents, and started to cry more and more! I was in total shock!!!!!!!!!!! Then, as I tried to maneuver my way through the crowd people kept asking questions like... "What does he smell like?!" Actually, he didn't smell like any type of perfume! He had a refreshing smell to him! :o) Well, they performed so wicked, and I managed to squeeze myself to the front again! And Jeff serenaded me while singing "Invisible Man." Also, Nick sang to me! And man... they were dressed so good!!!!!!! During a question period, someone asked if the guys had girlfriends. Drew and NIck said that they were seeing someone!!! But when Jeff responded he said "I'm currently..." Just then, the crowd went silent and I decided to scream!!! But Jeff finished off his sentence and said ".....seing someone!" Man, I was crushed... and plus I felt like a real idiot! But luckily, Justin was single, and he looked so gorgeous! Well, this was the best day of my life! When they were leaving, I ran to the sides to see if I could get to talk to Jeff again, and I shook his hand, and asked if he liked his rose! And he said with the cutest voice.... "They are gorgeous, darling!" .....Yes he did use the word darling, which made me cry some more! Well, I guess that concludes my 98º experience! OHHH my God! They are soo hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and if by chance you are watching the 11 o' clock news and see a girl in a green sweatshirt talking about how much she loves Jeff Timmons, it's me!!!!!!!!! :o)
