Linkie-poos of da Danged!!!

Well, every site has got an obligatory link page, so why should the Baron's be any different? The following is a tiny sampling of my current favorite cyber-haunts:

HORRORS!

Mondo Digital - Best site on the web dealing with Euro-Trash movies on DVD, replete with opinionated reviews and updated release dates. If Reagan and Bush administrations created Crack to do away with minorities and AIDS to do away with undesriables, surely Clinton had the CIA invent DVD to drive European Cult Cinema enthusiasts into bankruptcy!

Mario Bava Web Page - Bava was the undisputed master of the giallo, a sub-genre of Italian horror film equal parts ghostly Gothic and ghastly Grand Guignol. This long over-due site offers a biography, filmography, in-depth movie reviews and a comprehensive photo gallery. Great place to start for those wishing to learn more about this legendary filmmaker.

The Cabinet of Dr. Casey - The best all-purpose horror site on the God damned web, covering the macabre in all mediums: books, films, comics, theatre, radio, you name it. Also graced with a pretty bitchin' horror movie poster archive.

Sinister Tales - Wonderful site dedicated to the enjoyment and appreciation of Euro-trash horror movies.

A Fistful of Dario: The Dark Cinema of Dario Argento - Tribute page devoted to the man who picked up the giallo torch from Bava. Yeah, his last few movies have stunk worse than a curdled yak milk shake, but that can't change the fact this diminutive Italian made some genuine classics of the genre. Go here for a brief bio, latest Dario news, and related merchandise.

The Mark of Naschy - THE place to get all the info and latest news regarding Paul Naschy (stage name of Jacinto Molina), Spain's premiere horror film star, best known for his appearance as werewolf Waldemar Daninsky in nearly a dozen films. Naschy's films are wonderfully entertaining and well worth investigating.

The Golden Age of Italian Horror: 1957 to 1979 - From the superb Images web-zine, an in-depth survey of Italian giallo films by the likes of Bava, Freda, Margheriti and Argento.

The Francofile - Spaniard Jesus (Jess) Franco is the most prolific B moviemakers in history. His films are bizarre, wild, wooly, colorful and obsessive, and here you can learn about this brilliant kook's projects past, present and future.

The Home of Zacherley: The Cool Ghoul
- Home page for John Zacherle, amateur theatre enthusiast and prize-winning rose grower turned TV horror movie show host.

Shocking Images - This is the official web site for Lucio Fulci (as approved by his daughter Antonella, we are informed), Jean Rollin, and... Rudy Ray Moore (aka. DOLEMITE)! How's that for a combo?

Boris Karloff - Home page owned and operated by Karloff's only child, his daughter Sara.

Home Page of the Dead - Dedicated to the zombie films of George A. Romero. Get the latest news, links, fan fiction, and download total conversion for Duke Nuke 'Em.

Famous Monsters of Filmland - If you're as wickety whacked in the head as I am, odds are that Forest J. Ackerman's cheezy little rag Famous Monsters played some role in warping thy brain. And now it has risen from the dead to terrorize magazine racks across the nation once again.

Tor Johnson - Tor was a Swedish pro wrestler turned B movie actor by Edward D. Wood Jr., and is probably best known for his roles in Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space and Bride of the Monster. Go here to find out more about this bullet-headed thespian.

On-line Classic Horror and Fantasy Fiction - Realizing how much catching-up you need to do with your classic horror and Goth Lit reading, but your wallet's a little too thin to lay out the bread for all those books? Fret no! Go here and you'll be able to download, free-of-charge, all manner of ghastly goodies! They've got the Bronte sisters, Byron, Goethe, Algernon Blackwood, Poe, J. Sheridan Le Fanu, F. Marion Crawford, William Hope Hodgson. In many cases (such as Robert W. Chambers' eerie classic The King in Yellow) these books are out of print and a massive bitch to find elsewhere!

Horror Online - Name says it all. News, links, and a horror movie hall of fame and shame.

Jean Rollin Tribute Page - Devoted to the undisputed King of the French Horror Film (he doesn't have much competition in that area, mind you, but his movies rock just the same). Slick-looking, but in desperate need of expansion.

Official Tom Savini Home Page - In case you need catching up on your 80's splatter movie trivia, Tom is the sick sumbitch responsible for all the grisly gore and grue in Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead and Maniac. My fave feature has to be the original storyboards for the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead (on which Tom made his feature directing debut).

The Blind Dead Have Risen - Dedicated to the "Blind Dead" series of zombie movies by Amando D'Ossorio which, despite their sometimes shoddy production values, can be quite creepy and atmospheric.

Hammer Film Productions Limited - The greatest Gothic horror movie studio of all time is back! And here's their official home page!

Free The West Memphis Three - Thought the days of the witchhunt had gone the way of the Dodo? You thought WRONG. If you've seen the brilliant documentary Paradise Lost: The Child Murders of Robin Hood Hills (which is scarier than Night of the Living Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre put together because its horrors are REAL), you'll know that the days of Mathew Hopkins and Cotton Mather are back with a vengeance. Follow the link above to learn more. Oh, and if you're a black-wearing, Wicca-dabbling freak who lives in a small Southern town... WATCH YOUR ASS!

The H.P. Lovecraft Archive -  Excellent page devoted to the life and work of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, "the twentieth-century horror story's dark and baroque prince".

MISC

Secret Shame (Self-Injury Information and Support - Hands down the best site about SI on the friggin' Net. 'Nuff said!

EVIL SHIT

Bob Larson Ministries: Bob Larson is a self-declared "expert" on Satanism and the occult who peddles his own brand of witch craze bullshit on the radio, TV talkshows, and now the Internet! Send Bob $50 bucks and he'll purge you of those demons that infected you at that Marilyn Manson concert! His radio talk show archives are particularly entertaining and bizarre. If you thought white trash were scary before...!

NYUCKS

Bushisms: HUZZAH! At last America has the Commander in Chief it deserves! Well, almost. Dan Quayle got passed over but at least we have the next best thing! And there's no denying that Pezdent Dubya has way with words! (The Baron is sick of hearing all you sore losers whine about how this country has a president it didn't it elect. FUCK IT, I say! Give that boy a fiddle and let's watch Rome BURN, BABY, BURN!)
Cliff Yablonski Hates You: Finally! Somebody who's even more pissed off and bitter than the Baron!

I love my Bonsai Kitten!
