In January, 1991, Mr. Geary returned to "General Hospital" in the role of Bill Eckert, a cousin of Spencer's, and a man of many, often dark, colors. Mr. Geary was seen on- screen as both Bill Eckert and Luke Spencer as the story progressed, until the death of Eckert.
Mr. Geary has come a long way from Coalville, Utah, the small mountain community of 800 where he was born. Tony was a gifted student, attending the University of Utah as a Presidential Award Scholar in theater. Jack Albertson saw Tony perform there, and cast him in "The Subject Was Roses." The production, starring Albertson and Martha Scott, toured Hawaii and settled at the Huntington Hartford Theater in Los Angeles, where Tony decided to establish himself. His ensuing musical theater credits comprise a catalog of classics. A highlight in this period was his co-starring engagement with Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas in "Your Show of Shows."
Mr. Geary has performed in more than 50 stage productions throughout the United States. His extensive theatrical credits include roles in productions of "The Wild Duck," "The Inspector General," "The Cat's Paw," "The Glass Menagerie," and "Barabbas" at the Los Angeles Theater Center. In addition, he toured with a production of "Jesus Christ Superstar," portraying the title role. He also portrayed Octavius Caesar, opposite Lynn Redgrave and Timothy Dalton, in a production of Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra" for PBS and the BBC.
Mr. Geary has made guest appearances on more than 40 television shows. Among his TV credits are roles on "Starsky & Hutch," "Barnaby Jones," "The Streets of San Francisco," "The Blue Knight," "All in the Family," "The Six Million Dollar Man," "The Partridge Family," "Most Wanted," "Mannix," "The Mod Squad," "Room 222," "Doc Elliot," "Temperatures Rising," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," Arthur Hailey's "Hotel" and "Murder, She Wrote." He also performed in the television movies, "Perry Mason and the Case of the Murdered Madam," "Kicks," "Sins of the Past," "The Imposter," "Intimate Agony" and "Do You Know the Muffin Man?" and in the daytime dramas, "Bright Promise" and "The Young and the Restless."
As a producer, Mr. Geary received a Cindy Award for the drama, "Sound of Sunshine, Sound of Rain," a children's story for Public Radio. He has also taught improvisation and story-theater techniques.
Mr. Geary competed in track and field and swimming events as a college student, and also raced horses. He is a certified scuba diver as well as an accomplished rollerblader. Tony also claims to be "the world's oldest Hip Hop dancer."
The attractive, blonde Ms. Francis got her start in television on "General Hospital" as a teenager (following a guest appearance on ABC's prime-time series, "Family") and literally grew up in the enormously popular role of Laura. The wedding of Laura to Luke Spencer (played by Anthony Geary) in November, 1981, remains the most-watched daytime drama event in the history of television. The fictional couple's romance even garnered a cover story in Newsweek magazine.
In 1981, after five years on "General Hospital," Ms. Francis left the show, and returned briefly two years later and again in 1984.
Genie's extensive television work also included recurring appearances on "Murder, She Wrote." Ms. Francis created the role of Ceara Connor on ABC's daytime drama, "All My Children," in 1990. Her portrayal of an adult incest survivor earned her critical and viewer plaudits.
On the stage, she has appeared in "Crimes of the Heart" and "See How They Run." In 1991, Ms. Francis appeared in the Williamstown Festival Theater Production of "Defying Gravity." That same year, Genie made her New York City debut in "The Baby Dance" at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Greenwich Village. She also appeared in a Comedic Curtain Raiser at Manhattan Class Company for their festival of One Acts, called "The Group."
Genie is married to actor/director Jonathan Frakes, who starred in the popular syndicated television series, "Star Trek: The Next Generation." They maintain residences in both Los Angeles and Manhattan. Their first child, Jameson Ivor Frakes, was born August 20, 1994.
For actor Jonathan Jackson, the role of Lucky is choice. "Lucky lives every boy's dream," Jonathan asserts. "He has loving parents, a loyal dog, and even a little bit of danger." In fact, his character has already been witness to a shoot-out on the Port Charles docks. "Lucky loves adventure, and," he says, "with parents like Luke and Laura, he can't help but get in on the action."
For his portrayal of Lucky, Jonathan recently won a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
A resident of Washington state, Jonathan gave serious thought to an acting career following a family visit to Universal Studios Hollywood in 1991. His older brother, Richard, made the first move to Los Angeles in pursuit of a performing career, and Jonathan and his mother soon followed. Jonathan got a few commercials under his belt before he was chosen, from several hundred young hopefuls, for the sought-after role of Lucky Spencer. His first airdate was October 29, 1993.
Although acting is his favorite activity, Jonathan also participates in most sports, including basketball, baseball and rollerblading. He also enjoys playing the guitar. Jonathan, his mother, brother and sister divide their time between homes in the Los Angeles area and Washington state, where his father resides permanently.
Beautiful Jacklyn Zeman's characterization of head O.R. Nurse Bobbie Spencer Brock Meyer Jones continues to stir the hearts of millions of daytime drama viewers. She rreceived a 1995 Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress for her emotional portrayal of a mother whose child was killed in a traffic accident, but whose organs saved the life of another little girl.
Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Jacklyn began training in classical ballet at age five. Eight years later, she was accepted into the New Jersey Dance Company while continuing to study dance with other teachers. After completing her high school studies at age 15, Jacklyn won a scholarship to New York University, where she majored in dance. Within the year, she was dancing and modeling professionally in addition to continuing her college work.
Impetuous and ambitious, Jacklyn suddenly decided she wanted to be an actress on daytime television. The next morning, she enrolled in a drama school that specialized in television acting techniques. Within three months, she made her debut on ABC's "One Life to Live."
Jacklyn sought out acting opportunities to develop her new craft. In addition to television work, she performed in off-Broadway and community productions, including "Come Blow Your Horn," "Barefoot in the Park" and "The Boyfriend." She also was featured in the motion pictures, "The Groove Tube," "The Day the Music Died," and "Young Doctors in Love" and "National Lampoon's Class Reunion," the last two from ABC Motion Pictures.
Jacklyn traveled to Los Angeles to create the role of Bobbie Spencer on "General Hospital" in December of 1977, after her character on "One Life to Live" came to an untimely end. She also co-starred in "Jury Duty: The Comedy," with Alan Thicke and Bronson Pinchot, an ABC movie for television that aired in early 1990.
Ms. Zeman's honors and awards over the years have included an Emmy nomination, a Soapy Award, Les Etoiles de Coeur Award from the American Heart Association, and the Hollywood International Favorite Actress Award.
Jacklyn has made guest appearances on television's top talk and game shows. Her first book, "Beauty on the Go," was published by Simon & Schuster in 1986. Ms. Zeman also vacation-subs as co-host on various ABC Television Network stations' morning shows throughout the country. Several years ago, she hosted "Soap Talk" for ABC Radio nationwide. In 1989, she co-hosted the Easter Seals Telethon in California to help expand public awareness of the problems of the disabled. The actress also performed on three videos that were released in 1989.
One of her favorite pastimes is travel. She has been the guest of the United States Armed Forces overseas and has made numerous appearances on "Runaway" and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," with Robin Leach.
In May of 1989, Ms. Zeman became a family member of ABC's daytime show, "Home," on which she offered special feature segments on beauty, fashion and fitness, and occasionally co-hosted. She has guested on such programs as "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Donahue," "Live With Regis & Kathie Lee" and "One on One." She was also featured on Jamie Jamison's "Home Tips," a syndicated radio show airing in over 300 markets nationwide.
In addition, Jacklyn has her own production company, which co-produced the play, "Seacliff, California," at the Mainstage Theater in Los Angeles in 1988. She plans to produce television shows under her own banner as her next career endeavor.
Jacklyn and Glenn Gorden (cq) were married on St. Valentine's Day in 1988. They have two beautiful daughters, Cassidy Zee, born Sept. 16, 1990, and Lacey Rose, born July 15, 1992. Rounding out the family are their two dogs, Rogan and Breezy. The family lives in Malibu, California.
