My Loft

This is my loft. My parents home has a garage with a second floor, which in early Spring of 1995 I converted into my pad, my crib. The garage is itself a seperate building from the house, so privacy and space are mine big time. It's about the size of a small apartment. It's also a haven for myself and my friends. Here, we can do whatever for however long we want. Loud noise? No problem. Recently my dad put in a shower, so now it's got everything.

In my loft my friends visit often. I always arrange "loft get-togethers" where numbers of my friends turn out for an evening together. We play games (Sony Playstation, Nintendo 64, board games) watch movies, and basically just hang out. No drugs or liquor allowed, my rule. This has become my most frequent social activity. My buddy Ray hasn't missed a single "shindig" as we call them. Originally, we called them "Playstation Get-Togethers," but that faded and I lost count of how many we've had. We've had a lot of good times and a lot of laughs here.

This is where I originally construct my page from, and all my other mysterious operations come into being right here. I originally wanted to rennovate the unused space so my first real girlfriend and I could have some privacy if we wanted. Also, I was getting tired of my parents complaining when I had friends over late (my old room being next door to theirs).

My sister has her eye on my space now that I'm moving to Tyler this fall, but I basically told her where to go. It cost me over $1200 bucks to move in initially. This $ was raised by working at Klein's (my first job) for a whole semester (off from school), 40 hours a week. It was hell, but it was worht it.

It gets pretty messy at times (Amy being a real slob). I've put a couple holes in the walls from time to time. I've stopped this as of late, because I feel sorry for all my dad's hard work.

A place of happiness, life, fun, laughs, creativity. A true sanctuary.
