About Me
Greetings! My name is Dan "Dante" Starr. I'm 21 years old and I currently live in a small town (75,000 people)in east Texas called Tyler. I live with my girlfriend in a nice little apartment, just across form the college she's attending, UT Tyler. Amy is a nursing major, and she should be done with school in just under two years. I myself am on temporary hiatis from school, but plan to return in the spring. I am an elementary education major, though it sometimes seems as though I'll never get a degree...*sigh*
Amy and I have been together since February 27, 1996. We are planning to marry, and have children whose names we've already picked out (Marian Minmei and Marlon Hikaru). We also dream of traveling, especially to Japan, Sweden, Hong Kong and Scotland.
I have two really great parents who have been happily married for over tweny years now(!) and an increasingly intelligent sister (mean as hell), whose only fault is a current obsession with Marilyn Manson (and a disdain for school).
For nearly three years, I worked at a small grocery store in my hometown of Tomball, called Klein's. It provided me with many adventures, friends, and opportunities. Although I met all my current group of friends (and girlfriend) there, I'm sometimes glad to be free from the godforsaken den of stupidity, ignorance, and breeding ground for every variety of backward-ass moron ever to pollute the earth. Sometimes I just wanna cry out in anguish when I think of how damn retarted 90% of all Klein's patrons were. I do miss all my managers and friends though...
I am currently working at Best Buy. I work in the Cellular/DSS department, where I'm supposed to be an expert (uh...). It's a really great place to work, and the people are really helping me to feel comfortable and welcome.
Most people would describe me as light-hearted and good-natured. A phrase that, I feel, describes me perfectly, "I excel at mediocrity." I enjoy having get togethers at my loft in Tomball, but I also appreciate quiet time with Amy. My interests are greatly varied and I am living proof that one can enjoy Danzig and not be a Bible-beating hypocrite, yet lead a fulfilling Christian life. I am: an avid reader, a videogame player, a thinker, a philosopher, a bleeding-heart liberal (with a conservative's common sense), and, yes, a Christian. I'm currently addicted to Conan & James Bond novels, Marlon Brando, Zombie and James Bond films, Super Mario Cart 64, Goldeneye (N64)and all things Batman. Also, I've a renewed interest in comics and JLA, Nightwing and Silver Surfer are my current favorites.
The backgroud drawing for this page was done by me. It's of a character (in a slightly simplified version) form a little-known Japanese animation show from circa 1990, called Dragon Warrior. His name is Abel.
