Jessica and her friends, well, classmates, made there way to the gallery under the leadership of Elizabeth. Once they got there, they forgot about their quest to look for Ms. Loflet, because they beauty of the artwork once again took their breaths away. They just stood there for a couple of minutes, taking everything in, from the unique pictures, to the fine pottery. Elizabeth was the first to collect herself.

"You guys, lets look for Ms. Loflet," Jessica heard her sister say.

"Right," Jessica said, peeling her eyes away from the work she was looking at. Jessica turned to Lila to say something to her, but she could see that her friend was absorbed in the work. Jessica couldn't help but chuckle to herself. Lila out of all people was interested in history! Of course she wasn't exactly thrilled to be roaming around in some old pyramids, but she had to admit they were pretty fascinating.

"I don't see her anywhere," Todd commented.

"Me neither," Elizabeth said concerned.

Jessica look around. They were right. Ms. Loflet was nowhere to be found.

"I'm starting to get scared," Amy announced.

Jessica couldn't help but roll her eyes. Amy was such a wimp. It's like come on! They've only been looking for Ms. Loflet for ten minutes. They still had plenty of time left. How many places can you be in some old pyramids?

"You guys over here!" Ken yelled from across the room. "There's another opening to the second gallery in here."

Jessica and her friends made there way towards Ken. He better be right about this, Jessica thought to herself. The students look around the second gallery. Still no sign of Ms. Loflet.

"My feet are starting to hurt," Lila complained.

"But we've only been walking around for fifteen minutes," Todd pointed out.

"Fifteen long minutes," Lila defended. "And all that walking for nothing. We still haven't found Ms. Loflet yet."

"Don't worry," Winston chirped in. "I'm sure she's around her somewhere. How many places can she be?"

"Maybe we should stay in one spot," Amy suggested.

"Oh that will do us good," Jessica finally said. For all we know, she could be on her way to the other side of the park by now."

"I agree with Jessica," Ken said, throwing a guilty look at Amy, his sort-of-girlfriend. "I mean, what can we really accomplish standing around."

"Thank you Ken," Jessica said.

"Well, I'm not sure," Elizabeth spoke up. "What if Ms. Loflet comes back and looks for us here?"

"She has a point," Winston agreed.

"We should look for Ms. Loflet," Jessica argued.

"Stay here," Winston shot back.

"Look for her," Jessica insisted.

"Stay here."

"Look for her."

"Stay here."

"Look for her"

"Stay-"

"Enough guys!" Elizabeth yelled. Everyone stared at her. Jessica saw her sister blush, but then she gained control. "I say we take a vote." Elizabeth said. "All in favour of staying here, raise up their hand."

Elizabeth, Amy and Winston raised there hands.

"Todd!" Elizabeth yelled.

"Sorry," Todd apologized, "but I agree with Ken and Jessica."

"Come on! Let's just move it already," Lila said. "We already won the vote, so let's get moving."

"Well, they did win," Elizabeth said to Amy and Winston. "Let's just look for Ms. Loflet."

"Fine," Amy and Winston said with bored tones.

Good, Jessica thought to herself. Now we can finally get moving.

* * *

"Maybe we should turn this way," Todd suggested.

"No, I think we should definitely turn that way," Winston said, pointing in the opposite direction.

"Will you two stop it!" Jessica yelled. "We've been turning this way and that for the past half hour and we still haven't gotten out of . . . wherever we are!"

"Jessica calm down," Elizabeth said. Elizabeth and her friends had been searching aimlessly for Ms. Loflet, but they still haven't found her yet. They took some turns in tunnels here and there, and so far, they hadn't been able to find their way out of the pyramids. Everyone was getting cranky and annoyed at everyone else. The tunnels were also very narrow and stuffy. Elizabeth was just grateful that it wasn't hot in here.

"Calm down!?" Jessica questioned in surprised. "How can I possibly calm down when I'm stuck in some dingy pyramid and not know when I will next see light."

"But Jessica, there are torches here. What do you mean ‘when you will next see light'?" Amy wanted to know.

"I mean daylight you idiot!" Jessica shot back.

"Jessica!" Elizabeth exclaimed in surprise. "Don't speak to Amy that way!"

"Well I'm sorry," Jessica said, although she didn't seem the least bit apologetic. "It's just that being stuck in a pyramid isn't exactly high on my to do list."

"Jessica's right," Lila spoke up. "This totally sucks. This was suppose to be a vacation and some fun in the sun, but so far, I'm not exactly getting a lot of sun, if you know what I mean."

"Look, we haven't even been here for all that long. We can't be that lost. We just have to find the right tunnels to go through and before you know it, we'll be face to face with Ms. Loflet and everyone else," Elizabeth explained, trying to be comforting.

"Elizabeth's right, Lila," Amy said.

"I never thought of it that way," Ken commented.

"Okay," said Winston. "Well, what are we waiting around for, let's get moving."

Elizabeth smiled. She was glad to see that her friends weren't so down and cranky anymore. Then Jessica began to speak.

"Well, okay. Let's say you're right Lizze. But we do have just a teensy little problem."

"What's that?" Elizabeth wanted to know.

"Which tunnel to we take?" Jessica asked.

Good question, Elizabeth thought.

* * *

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Amy shrieked.

"What is it?!" Jessica asked in alarm.

"A rat!" Amy yelled in response.

"Where? Where?" Lila asked, looking around frantically.

"Over there!"

"Where?"

"There!"

"Ahhhhhh! Somebody help me!"

"Will you two stop it!" Ken yelled, breaking up the shrieking match between Lila and Amy.

"Yeah, it's only a rat" Todd added.

"A BIG rat," Lila defended.

Normally, Jessica would be shrieking along with the rest of them, but right now, she was just too depressed to even care. They have been stuck in some filthy pyramid for over an hour, and Jessica wasn't sure if they'll ever find their way out. Jessica combed her hair with her hands. Her hair was limp and filthy. Gross.

"This stinks," Jessica commented.

"I think we already know that," Winston replied.

"I hate to admit it, but even I'm starting to get annoyed," Elizabeth spoke up.

"Not only are we lost, but we're lost with rats," Lila complained.

"Liz, when are we going to get out?" Jessica asked her sister.

"I don't know. Do you think we should split up?" Elizabeth asked her friends.

"No, that's not a good idea. What if one group finds their way out, but the other gets lost further in the pyramid. Then the other group would have to find the lost group, which would take more time. And the group looking for the lost group might get lost looking for the lost group, making there two lost group and we'll end up exactly where we started, except separated," Winston said in one breath.

"I take it you gave that some thought," Todd commented.

"Well, I certainly had the time to," Winston replied.

"Okay, so splitting up is out," Elizabeth said. "What other options do we have?"

"We could stay in one place," Amy suggested.

"I don't think so," Jessica said. "We'll just be wasting time. And who knows how long it would take for the teachers to find us. They might not even know that we're stuck in THIS pyramid."

"I guess your right," Amy agreed.

"The only other option we have left is to continue on and look around," Ken said.

"But I'm tired!" Lila complained. "Can't we rest for awhile?"

"I think that would be okay," Elizabeth said.

"Yeah, it's not like we have anywhere else to go," Jessica said, and kicked the wall in frustration.

As soon as she kicked the wall, there was a low rumbling.

"What's that?" Todd asked in alarm. The rumbling got louder. In seconds, they seemed to be in a mini-earthquake.

"What's happening?" Jessica asked frantically, trying to balance there self against a wall.

"Oh my gosh!" Winston exclaimed. "The wall! It's moving!"

Everyone turned to look at the wall. Slowly, the wall opened to reveal a small room.
