Oh my lord, Jessica thought to herself. It's a g...gu...guu...gun!

"That's right boys and girls," the stranger said. "I've got a gun. So, you all better not give me any trouble, or else there will be one more empty seat on the ride home. You all understand?"

"Yes, sir," Ken squeaked out meekly. The others nodded their heads.

"Good. Now that that's settled, I want all of you to turn around and sit down facing the wall," the man ordered.

There wasn't any hesitation this time. Jessica and her friends all lined up against the wall and slowly sat down.

"Good. Now, stick your arms up in the air where I can see ‘em," the stranger barked again.

Jessica and her friends did as he said. Jessica couldn't believe this was happening. This was suppose to be a trip involving shopping and sight seeing. And now the only thing that she was seeing was the wall! Jessica quickly stole a quick peek at the man. She could see that he was busy examining his - her - fortune. Jessica quickly turned around before the stranger could catch her looking. She couldn't take it anymore. She had to talk to someone.

"Liz," she whispered.

Elizabeth looked at her as if she was insane. After glancing back at the thief, Elizabeth slowly spoke.

"Are you crazy? We can't talk now. The thief might hurt one of us!" Elizabeth whispered.

"We can't just sit here and do nothing," Jessica protested.

"Shhh," Todd hushed at them.

Jessica rolled her eyes. But before she could say anything, the man spoke.

"Hey! No talking!" he ordered.

Elizabeth gave Jessica an I-told-you-so look.

Great! Jessica thought to herself. No talking. Now how are we suppose to plan our way out of here? This is just great! Just gr-

"Jessica? Elizabeth? Winston? Todd?" Jessica could hear someone yell in the faint distant.

Jessica eyes gleamed with hope. They were going to be rescued! She was going to live! She would be able to get her share of the gold after all! Jessica was just about to call back, when the thief whispered in a threatening voice.

"Not one word, or little rich girl hear will die," he warned. He grabbed Lila and aimed the gun at her head.

Elizabeth's heart sank as she heard the voices get fainter and fainter. Their probably only way of getting out of her was gone, shattered, diminished. She tore her eyes away from the door and focused her attention on Lila.

Poor Lila, Elizabeth thought. She could see that Lila was scared stiff. Her face was as white as snow and sweat was starting to form on her forehead. She looked like as if she was about to cry.

Elizabeth stained her ears, to see if she could still hear the search party. Maybe they decided to come back and search this part of the pyramid again, Elizabeth hoped. But her hope was soon shattered when she realized with a sinking feeling that the only sound she could hear was the pounding of her own heart.

The stranger waited until he was sure the search party was gone.

"That was close," he said to no one in particular. He flung Lila back on the ground and Lila whimpered.

"I better get out of hear before they decide to come back," the stranger announced. He grabbed the chest full of gold.

"Well it was nice knowing you kids. You've done all the work for me. I've got the gold, and you didn't turn me in. That was a smart move though. Because if you would have said anything, then little princess there would of went bye bye," he snickered.

Elizabeth winched. This person made her sick. She hope that if - when - they get out of here, she would never have to face this man again.

"Let see," the stranger said to himself. "Do I have everything here? I have the gold and- hmm, that seems to be it! Now, I want you all to lie on your stomach and put your hands behind your head, now!"

Elizabeth and the rest of the students did as they were told.

"Good. Now count to one hundred and don't turn back," he ordered.

They did as they were told. And started to count backwards softly.

"See ya kids," the stranger said, and with that, he pushed the pyramid door shut and was gone.

Elizabeth saw her sister race to the door.

She sure doesn't waste any time. And we're only on eighty-nine! Elizabeth thought.

The other kids slowly got up.

"No!" they all heard Jessica yell.

"What is it? Do you miss that man already?" Winston joked.

"No, you dork. It's just that, we're stuck! I can't get this thing to open. As a matter of fact, I can't even find the door!" Jessica exclaimed.

"Here let me try," Ken said, using his fingers to find the outline of the door.

Everyone eventually made their way to the wall to help look for the door. After awhile, Elizabeth stepped back.

This was no use. Even if they did find the door, there would be know way for them to open it. Elizabeth didn't want to admit it, but she knew the truth. For the forth time that day, her heart sank. They were trapped.
