Oil for the Lamps of China

(1935)

1/2

A disquieting look at the manipulation by big companies of their employees. In it O'Brien convincingly plays a large oil company's representative in China, who dedicates his whole life over to his company, thinking that "the company takes care of its own." He puts the company above his wife, his child, his best friend, and above his own safety. A good film which makes you think.
