Chris Carter

Chris Carter was born on the 13th of October 1956, Bellflower, California. (Hence the name of his production company 1013).

Chris is non-religious, though raised a Baptist.

Chris Carter worked as a free-lance journalist for 15 years at "Surfer" Magazine, writing and travelling abroad before entering into the world of television.

Chris Carter began screenwriting in 1985 after the chairman of Walt Disney Studios read one of his screenplays and signed him to a development contract with WD Pictures.

He wrote and produced several TV movies including "The Nanny" and "Cameo By Night". He left Disney for a short time to co-produce a second series of the comedy series "Rags To Riches", but returned in 1989 to create "Brand New Life" on which he also serverd as executive producer.

He currently resides in Pacific Palisades, California with his wife, Dori Pierson, also a screenwriter.

His hobbies include surfing, squash and baseball.

Though he has no children of his own (claiming he would "love them too much") he is godfather to Piper, Gillian Anderson's daughter.
