Northwestern University and study acting. While there, he was in several Shakespearean productions
and other plays such as "Our Country's Good" and "The Glass
Menagerie."
After graduating, he returned to Los Angeles, quickly getting a lot of
guest-starring parts in such series as "Frasier" and
"Savannah".
FROM Daily Dish, Friday September 5, 1996?:
Tony Crane the leading man on USA Network's The Big Easy shared with chatters tidbits about his life and why did he become an actor: "Acting for me is just one of the most logical expressions of all my neurosis. Mostly, I feel that there's a lot of places I'd like to take people and those excursions of spirit are basically my way of communicating. I just believe in a lot of fantasy and enjoy a lot of pretending as well as a lot of searching. I've always been that way. Being an actor is for me the only way to play all those lives that I haven't lived. And you get to do a lot of cool things." One of the very cool things he does is live in New Orleans and this is how he describes the environment. "I think everything in New Orleans has about 5-6 stories that you can believe. I try not to take anything for granted, but I think it's because everything does come pretty easy down here, good times, laughter, friends, music and all the other stuff. But I think there's a dark side to that expression, meaning it's just as easy to go up as down. Kind of sounds like life." Watch for his film debut in Wes Craven's Wishmaster.
