Is Vinnie too hard on Himself ?
Bop
At 18 years old, Vincent Kartheiser speaks
about his acting career more
like a wise old man than the teenager that he is. He had three
notable
feature-film credits under his belt - 1997's Masterminds, 1996's
Alaska
and 1995's The Indian in the Cupboard - and two more on the way -
The
Hairy Bird and Another Day in Paradise - but according to Vinnie,
his
time in the spotlight could all end at the drop of a hat.
"I'm not optimistic about my time in this business," he
tells BOP. "I
would not be surprised if in five years I'm not here anymore. And
that's
just the way it goes. If it happens, it happens."
While he maintains a way-strong sense of reality about the
competitively harsh world of show biz, Vinnie is too demanding on
himself. After all, the fact that he's beat out hundreds of other
young
actors for starring roles in feature films isn't just luck- the
guy has
an amazing acting ability.
However, if Vinnie's prediction about his career comes true, he
won't
be crushed. "There is other stuff out there," he
explains. "I used to
think when I was young that there wasn't. I thought that acting
was the
only way. But you know what ? It's just another part of
life." Hold on,
Vinnie, with your talent, you might be in for a big surprise!
