The American Dietetic
Association (ADA) is a 66,500 member association that promotes
the optimal health, nutrition, and well-being of the public. The
ADA seeks to shape the food choices and impact the nutritional
status of the public in hospitals, colleges, universities,
schools, day care center, research, business and industry. ADA
sets and approves standards of education and practice. Its
National Center for Nutrition and Dietetics maintains a consumer
nutrition hotline 1-800-366-1655 and provides information and
referrals to registered dietitians throughout the country.
